Ok so like braindead take aside I'm glad they are restricting the API, less chances of leaks with new content that plagued D2 due to unrestricted API access. That said, Bungie openly admits there is a cheating problem and has stated they are working to fix it.

I have heard from a source that is no longer at Bungie that they are purposely restricting Marathon API access to internal/non-public use due their fear of widespread cheating being revealed. They are deathly afraid of a "The Cycle: Frontier" PR situation.
