@silvery_nyx @EpicCargo The Braytech dev is in Australia, so they'd definitely need a CDN to reach their target audience as well, right? I imagine self-hosting is also just straight-up prohibitive if they want to reach Americans/Europeans without their site running like ass

@EpicCargo @NuCaloric Because the upfront cost of self hosting is incredibly high, and cloud services give things like DDOS protection and bot protection that’s much harder to do when self hosting

@GestaltAero I really liked Red Sea Rift too, it felt like a very Destiny location. Sure you could say it's using recolored D1/D2 pallettes, but there's impressive lighting going on here I think x.com/NuCaloric/stat…

Really sucks that NetEase decided to ruin any artistic goodwill they could get from this game because they couldn't be bothered to commission a couple of $20 posters. Because D:R definitely starts to actually look like Destiny once you get to the Red Sea Rift
