I guess I officially earned my #Xbot wings today. MBG blocked me because apparently I annoyed him pointing out that if Sony takes the credit for Bungie sales, they take the blame for this debacle going on right now. Behold the reply that got me blocked...

@BillSimmons Y’all fixed this over a decade ago. Bill, why don’t they use that plan I remember reading on your old blog where you get incentivized for winning games after you’re eliminated? Incentivizing losing is why tanking is such a problem.

@RS00090 @Puertorock77_ Better than settling for a PC which steam survey clearly shows us majority of PC gamers have old trash set ups and then come on here and try to prop up PC gaming like the parts we all want hasn't been overpriced since COVID. Cheers playing on dated hardware

PS5 = PlayStation Xbox games, Wolverine; Saros, Intergalactic, Yotei and GTA6 the day it launches. Or buy a more expensive PC for Xbox games, but don’t get to play Wolverine, Saros, Intergalric, Yotei and wait to play GTA6 even though it would be out. Yeah great advice. 🙄
Blitz 🐧@MechaGoddess

Spend some more money on a PC to be able to play games from multiple consoles as well as use it for more than just games and having a more powerful machine than a console if possible for you that you can upgrade over time, or spend $900 on one console

With respect PR, there are tons of games on PC not on either Xbox or PlayStation, and you don’t have to pay a cent to play them online. And, until the $$$ people say they aren’t putting any new single player games on PC, I’m not believing it. Most of the players on Marathon are on PC, and with this price increase coming, they’re going to need to send their games to as many places as possible for the cash.

@DjehutySpeaks @td_nash The Eastern conference back then was fifty times harder than the west. The Lakers would cost theough the western confrence, then be nice and fresh when it was time to face an exhausted Eastern team.

@td_nash 100% Equal. Magic’s extra rings are a result of playing in a weaker conference with a better supporting cast. Talent-wise, Bird had a better peak and Magic had a longer peak. They’re the reason why the NBA became relevant before MJ built off of what they started.

I mean this with the deepest respect, that’s not how history works. It’s 100% true that as time passes, even the most dominant players are often overlooked or minimized by the bias that today’s players are always better than those from previous eras. OG legends like Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, and John Havlicek have their foundational dominance dismissed by those who never saw them play. NBA icons like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar—guys who LITERALLY saved and defined the league—frequently find their accomplishments questioned in modern "GOAT" debates. It has even reached a point where some younger fans attempt to pick apart Michael Jordan’s career, which seemed unthinkable just a decade ago. I’d like to think you’re right, but history isn’t on your side.

Kobe Bryant will never be erased from the history books. As much as modern fans would like to try. He accomplished way too much with a plethora of legendary moments and is way too respected within NBA circles. That 81 point game isn’t even a top 10 achievement of his. TBH.

"The juice wasn't worth the squeeze? Sony literally told investors last year that PC was a 'meaningful incremental revenue stream' with a 133% growth projection. gameworldobserver.com/2023/05/24/son… The juice was fine—Sony just realized their 2013-era walled garden can’t survive in a 2026 world where players actually expect to own their games across devices. They aren't 'protecting the brand'; they're panicking because they can't compete with an open ecosystem."

That’s not what their executives said… Liza Tattersall – Senior VP / strategy/finance side at Sony Interactive Entertainment was quoted in investor briefings about incremental revenue from PC and “expanding beyond console” as part of PlayStation’s growth plan. In 2023–2025 investor materials, Sony explicitly told investors that: • PC would be a meaningful incremental revenue stream, with forecasts like $450M in PC revenue for FY23 and strong CAGR projections. Glad someone at @Sony @Playstaion finally realized removing their single player tent pole titles mean that PlayStation will be the only place to have ✅ PlayStation tent pole titles ✅ Xbox Games ✅ The best 3rd party titles All of it, all on one device!

@TheBryank75 @I_DeathSinger_I It’s going to take all of the games never missing for this to work. If they have even one of their 300+ million dollar tentpole games slip, much less flop, they don’t have the cushion of PC to fall back on.

I know it’s 2026, but Sony is still partying like it’s 2013! Most of us have moved on to expecting our libraries and saves to follow us across handhelds and PCs, not be held hostage by a $600 plastic box. Sony is betting "Prestige Exclusivity" can ignore modern reality and force us back into their walled garden. They’re wrong, Puertorock! Enjoy the 20th-century business model while the rest of the world moves on.

Unlike Xbox gamers, PS gamers did not like games going to PC. We never sided with the execs, we never pushed the idea, we never made it sound great. This is well known and many bashed/mocked PS gamers over it. In the end we got what we wanted because we never co-signed!

This will be a short-term win for a long-term loss. Like Parris said, Sony happily got my money as a Steam and Xbox user on Steam. I’m never going to buy a PlayStation. I am: • A high‑information, high‑engagement gamer. • Happy to pay full price for Sony titles on PC. Someone who will now: • Not buy a PS6. • Not buy Sony’s SP games if they don’t come to PC. • Likely spend that time/money in Xbox/Steam ecosystems instead. Sony is making people like me detractors, versus people who did want to give them money. PC is growing, while console is stagnant at best. Good luck…

In 1988, Michael Jordan won Defensive Player of the Year AND averaged 35 ppg. No other player has ever won DPOY and averaged 30 ppg in a season. In fact, no other DPOY winner has averaged 30 in ANY season across their career. That same year, Jordan also collected every major individual accolade: - MVP - Defensive Player of the Year - All-NBA First Team - All-Star Starter - All-Star Game MVP - Slam Dunk Champion - Scoring Leader - Steals Leader To top it off, he didn't miss a single game. Now THAT is the kind of season you tell your grandchildren about.

Brap, you’re REALLY persistent. I can tell you’ve got that “PlayStation podcast host energy” where you’ve been apologizing for Sony so long that you’ve mastered the art of stretching the thinnest arguments into a whole sermon! Imma break down these pony excuses, AGAIN. On Output: Xbox has five years of pipeline locked in while Sony is shipping remasters and silence. You can't dismiss momentum when your competitor has it and you don't. On Install Base: Install base only matters if you're stuck in one ecosystem. Xbox spans console, PC, cloud, and mobile — Sony is still primarily one box. The broader your reach, the less any single device matters. We know that Sony acknowledges this, because their precious exclusives are all on PC, and their multiplayer games are even on Xbox, too! On Revenue: "Apples-to-oranges" is just code for "Microsoft is winning by being too successful." Market power is market power, and Xbox is out-scaled Sony across every platform. On Studios: As of right now, here is a list of CONFIRMED 1st party Xbox games just in 2026: – Forza Horizon 6 (May 19, 2026) – Kiln (Spring 2026) – Fable (2026) – Gears of War: E‑Day (2026) – Halo: Campaign Evolved (2026) I’m not including COD, because it isn’t confirmed, but we know another COD is coming, right? Toss in Towerborne in February and that Game Freak game as confirmed 2nd party, and that’s 7-8 games that we know of. Later? Clockwork Revolution, Fallout, ES6, Blade, the Xbox roadmap is deep and wide. Sony's 2026 is 2 games, plus MLB. Sony’s roadmap is remasters and question marks. You only stopped caring about "number of games" the second Sony stopped making them. On Strategy: Different strategies, sure — but only one actually scales. Microsoft built a multi-platform empire. Sony built a box that needs $700 "Pro" versions to stay relevant. That's not a tie. Look, I get it. You've invested years into defending PlayStation's "strategy," so admitting that Microsoft's pivot actually worked is painful. But here's the thing: You keep redefining what "winning" means because Sony is losing on every metric that matters. The reality: Microsoft is winning on the metrics that define the future of gaming — services, ecosystem reach, content pipeline, and revenue diversification. Sony is winning on the metrics that defined the past — a single box with a shrinking exclusive library. One of those strategies scales. One of them doesn't. You already know which is which. You're just not ready to say it out loud. Imma drop the mic here. I assume you’ll try and come up with something to refute these stone cold facts, but facts don’t care about your feelings. Sony is still dominating, by 2016 standards. It’s not 2016 anymore, it’s 2026.

One or two strong years doesn't mean a platform has "passed" another. Impact, sales, and audience reach still matter. The install base isn't some 2013 relic either. Console install base still drives software sales and engagement, and Sony's ecosystem is built to maximize that. Xbox expanding to PC and cloud is a different strategy, not proof Sony is obsolete. The revenue argument is also misleading. Xbox’s gaming revenue includes Activision, PC storefronts, and mobile. Sony's revenue is far more PlayStation-centric, which actually reinforces why console strength still matters. Apples-to-oranges comparisons don't prove dominance. Finally, having 30+ studios doesn't automatically equal momentum. Output volume isn't the same as hit games, sales success, or cultural impact. Game Pass value is real, but constant content isn't the same as must-own titles. The reality is this....Different strategies here. One side "winning" and declaring victory by redefining the metrics mid-argument is the real goalpost shift here.

With Xbox bringing major franchises like Fable and Halo to PlayStation day-and-date, it's hard to argue against reality anymore. The PS5 already has one of the strongest first-party line-ups and the deep third-party support. Now it's becoming the place where former Xbox "exclusives" land at launch. So, if you want one game console that gets everything, PS5 is quickly becoming the obvious choice.
