It is alleged that SANTACO, the majority of taxi associations, is threatening to prevent buses that are transporting cross-border passengers due to low passenger numbers. It is reported that since neighbouring countries are repatriating their citizens back to their home countries, cross-border taxis are badly affected. There are no longer passengers because they are taking advantage of free rides back to their home countries. SANTACO wants to transport repatriated foreign nationals back to their own countries.
