@Zeph_rAO3 @white_dari6892 @justalexoki @plasmarob how can you come to the conclusion that the red button doesn't directly increase the odds of the gun going off when that is literally the only thing it does do? would you really feel no guilt if you contributed to a red vote that killed some of your close friends and family?

@TalnerBat @white_dari6892 @justalexoki @plasmarob This is where you guys miss the point of the question. Red isn’t voting to pull the trigger, red is choosing to not put a gun to their head. Blue is voting to put a gun to their head and saying “if all of you don’t do the same I’m gonna blow my brains out.”

@r_u_thinking @Kapippalist @keyokkud I would also like to add that I do think red would win if the scenario was real even as a blue advocate, in part because people will not understand the consequences for pressing red until the aftermath.

@r_u_thinking @Kapippalist @keyokkud I personally think blue is the better choice, and that people who choose red are in some ways idealistic themselves about not facing consequences, such as close friends/family dying from pressing blue, or facing retribution for their choices if blue wins.

@Freddyfaulds811 @Kapippalist @keyokkud how does red winning not kill people? the only way it doesn't kill people is if 100% of people pick it, which is unrealistic, and the same effect can be achieved if over 50% pick blue. I don't blame people for being scared of pressing blue though

@Kapippalist @keyokkud its not even written badly its the fact that people who pick red see the logicall fallicy in the question and know picking red is correct and puts noone in danger Blue people see it with emotion and that your killing people and not the obvious blue is a die button not a save one

@Kapippalist @atmikaw_chii @keyokkud that's not to say I'd want it to happen, but there are certainly a lot of people who advocate for blue that have a surprising lack of empathy and understanding for people who chose red

@Kapippalist @atmikaw_chii @keyokkud I wouldn't say you have a 100% chance of living. if blue wins, the button thing might not kill anyone, but the people who pressed blue might be a little upset at the people who pressed the "maybe kill blue people" button.

@white_dari6892 @justalexoki @plasmarob the gun does nothing if you have a little faith in humanity and don't vote to pull the trigger. there's more than just virtue in that decision, it isn't about survival, it's a trust exercise. if we cannot trust each other, we do not have a functioning society.

@justalexoki @plasmarob There is no virtue in unnecessary sacrifice. You can reframe the experiment as "if less than half of people put guns to their head, everybody who put the gun to their head dies." Why should anyone, especially anyone with someone else to live for, put a gun to their head?

There are nights that feel heavier than others. Nights where silence speaks louder, and memories drift in without asking. I find myself remembering what once was the laughter, the closeness, the moments that felt like home. Not with anger. Not with regret.Just with a soft ache that reminds me it mattered. Some memories don’t hurt because they’re gone, they hurt because they were real… and beautiful… and rare. And even now, they still carry warmth, even if they also carry weight. So on nights like this, I let myself feel it. I don’t fight the memories. I sit with them, breathe, and remind myself that healing isn’t forgetting it’s learning how to carry the past more gently. One day at a time. One quiet night at a time.
