The constant chatter about private schools reminds me exactly why I do this job.
We’re raising more money than expected, school offer days passed smoothly and we’re investing in state schools. My focus remains on the schools attended by the majority of kids in this country.

I've seen widespread criticism of how this interaction between police and these teenage girls was handled.
For me, one officer appears to escalate the situation by pushing and then drawing his baton. From there, everything spirals out of control.
Watching police officers using this level of force against young teenagers is deeply uncomfortable. The way this played out feels unnecessary.

I am horrified by news of the attack in Edinburgh. I am grateful to the police and emergency services for their bravery in apprehending the suspect and for their speedy response in attending to the victims. The suspect appears to be motivated by anti-Muslim hatred. There is no place for hatred and violence against Muslims. I know it is not who we are as a country.
