This is why Trump’s rhetoric matters. All of it —from speeches to EO’s — enables and emboldens mini-me’s in state and local governments. The danger is real and Democrats need to treat it as such.

604 of the insurrectionists pardoned by Trump violently assaulted 174 police officers on Jan. 6. They suffered heart attacks, loss of fingers, loss of eyes, stabbings, traumatic brain injuries. Some have permanent disabilities. Five died. No way to justify these pardons.
