On YouTube I'm the magnanimous tyrant. That's because I'm the most forgiving man on the Internet. I have the super rare almost God like power to forgive people for petty Internet drama, therefore providing me with super human mental health, unburdened by irrational anger.

Crazy take. I don't think artists should be arrested for art. I don't care if its all fetish shit or whatever. People shouldnt have the government controling their lives for art. The crime on streets are far more important than this thought crime shit.

Seeing a lot of people say "I'm all for free speech, but not this free speech" as if they don't realize how fucking insane that sounds.

Fictional characters don't qualify.

If it's a drawing it would have to be a similar situation to Shadman, where he got in trouble for drawing a real child who is underage in real life. Fictional characters shouldn't qualify under any circumstances

So, I’m not a fan of loli VTubers. I think the designs are unrealistic—there’s effectively literally no adult IRL who looks like their models. No, being “short” doesn’t mean you have obviously and exclusively child features. I’m not a supporter of these kinds of VTubers, and I’m definitely strongly opposed if there’s any sexual connotation, even remotely. I think it’s in incredibly poor and questionable taste However, Actually being arrested and put on bail is pretty wild. I don’t know how bad her art was to warrant it, but this absolutely opens the door to any VTuber theoretically being arrested. A lot of anime characters are psychologically seen as high-school age—so who judges this? Who decides if someone’s design is legal or illegal? Who draws that line? I did click on Mimi’s socials link and got blasted with art of her character that is very clearly intended to depict a minor, to be fair. But again, who really decides this? It’s not an actual minor—it’s art of a fictional character It seems pretty obvious her character is intentionally lewd and depicting a minor, but this still raises a lot of questions. If your VTuber can be argued to look like a child, you may very well be liable for possessing or spreading child s*xual material in the UK. And honestly, the rest of the EU, Canada, Australia, etc. seem to be following the UK’s lead Her character is in poor taste and extremely questionable… I am not a fan at all of this sort of design and strongly condemn it personally However, the question is this, Is it criminal? Is your design criminal? That’s a very real question here. The UK clearly believes hers is criminal All this said though, I do believe the very real grooming and rape gangs targeting innocent white girls seem a little more urgent than questionable character art

UK-based VTuber and artist Mimi Yanagi was arrested on April 20 for her own drawings of anime-style characters. These drawings were 100% fictional, made up by her, with no real people involved. UK law still treats these kinds of drawings as illegal child pornography, police took all her computers and devices. She has now been released on bail, but she is not allowed to post any “adult” content. She must also use an account name approved by the police. The UK is lost, you can’t even draw now, they will put you in prison

If your only defense of a law is "it's the law" you've just retroactively pardoned and justified the Nazis. Laws cannot be self-justifying. You need to be able to defend why something is law. You also surrender the right to complain about any laws you may disagree with.

This depends entirely on how one defines "nation". If we go by the one Rothbard used in his essay on nations by consent, a nation can just be another word for private civilization, and is compatible with Libertarian philosophy. If we go by the definition wignats use, then no.
