That's the data you're referencing? Causation does not equal correlation. There's always been a greater record disparity in football. The worst teams often win around 2-3 games a season even before the cap. Equate that three wins per 16 game season to MLB and you're looking roughly at a 31-131 record for the worst team every year. Historically, that never happens. It happens in the NFL every year. You need to make a better argument than that.

Salary Caps level nothing. It’s ruined competitiveness and only serves to raise Owners franchise value.
No Cap EVER
Bob Nightengale@BNightengale
MLB wastes no time responding to union chief Bruce Meyer: ‘Our salary cap and floor proposal addresses our fans’ concerns by leveling the playing field while sharing baseball revenue with the players 50/50 like the other leagues. Under our proposal, Major League players will receive more compensation in year one of the system than in 2026. We are ready to listen if the MLBPA wants to counter our proposal at the bargaining table.”

@JV_PITT @KeithandMovies Since 2006:
🏈 Top 5 NFL franchises: 61.2% winning percentage
🏈 Bottom 5 NFL franchises: 41.3%
⚾ Top 5 MLB franchises: 55.2% winning percentage
⚾ Bottom 5 MLB franchises: 44.7%
The gap between the best and worst teams is nearly 50% larger in the NFL
English

@TheDA53 @KeithandMovies It’s a cherry picked argument stating the same two points over and over. What league generates more interest, money, ratings and merch?
How many small market teams have won a WS? How many have won SB?
English

@Ajay_W 12 teams have not won a sb in the nfl. Same number of teams in the nfl and nfl have won a championship since 2000. Same number have made the playoffs.
MLB isn’t broken.

@Juniorayers1 @thegoz85 @rbsd04 It’s always the same excuse. Or maybe it’s that system that doesn’t allow them to be competitive. 12 nfl franchise still don’t have a championship

@TheDA53 I'm with the owners are this one. They are trying to fix the product. Half of the trans aren't even trying to win in any given year. The 50-50 split proposed by the owners is completely reasonable.
English

@mattieb218 @krisk_0628 And the LA’s of the world would have gotten a broke down qb and wasted all that money while KC got their championships
English

@TheDA53 @krisk_0628 In the MLB system, LA or NY would have outbid KC for Mahomes by now.

@TheDA53 You can present whatever cherry-picked data you want. It won’t matter. We passionately DESPISE the idea that every offseason, bigger city teams get so many more choices and options compared to the rest of us. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF IT WORKS OUT OR NOT. It’s still infuriating 😡

@TheDA53 @dlars8989 Making playoffs is a different standard than made championship or won a championship….as in drastically different!!!

David’s take is incorrect. NFL, NHL and NBA all have parity that MLB has never had.
Only 1% of the players make the $700 million Harper, Ohtani contracts. The little guys making $750k-1.5 mil per year will win with the cap long term by making much more money over their careers.

@ChiSox4Life1985 In the last 20yrs
Every team in both leagues made the playoffs
18mlb teams and 19nfl teams made the championship
12mlb teams and 13nfl teams won a championship.
Seems like the MLB system is working
12 nfl teams have never won a sb
5 mlb teams have never won a ws
