🧵Hi lovely followers, I'm going to concentrate on making short videos from now on, my time spent replying to low follower trolls is better spent educating the public and immunising them against disinfo from the professonal climate deniers. Some of my film work is in this thread

Here we go again, a fossil fuel lobby group (YAF), which is part of the Atlas Network, has been promoting Magatte Wade (born in Senegal, but grew up in France) after she made the false dichotomy that only climate change or energy poverty can be solved instead of both together.

@prosperNpoverty @magattew Sorry but you are ignoring the 100yrs of fossil fuel firms exploiting African nations. Renewables are cheaper.

Lol This was a LIE. ITS A vid edited in 37 places and photoshoped. The pic allegedly shows me holding money with an all yellow t-shirt background. But the pic of me shows my Tshirt has words on. I never held any money. They wanted to bribe me. I told them we are against all vaxes and won't support one over another (which they wanted me to do). They said oh well here's some money for leaflets anyway (for the camera), put down an envelope and went off very quickly. The envelope contained Monopoly money. It was a total scam frame up.

@Piers_Corbyn Physics isnt a scam. Fossil fuel emissions are driving current warming. youtu.be/BmNyNivlEVo?si…

@TheDisproof @prosperNpoverty @magattew @KonstantinKisin Kisin’s argument rests on the absurd premise that the UK is the only country in the world with net zero targets and actually attempting to meet them. He argues no one else, least of all China, is committed to net zero. From that error his arguments collapse in a heap. Meanwhile

If you see this "paper" circulating the fossil fuel lobby group linked climate denial sphere, note that SCC isnt a real journal, it is run by a climate denial group from Norway. They also repeated an error made by Angstrom over 100yrs ago. The "paper" would fail proper scrutiny.

Here @magattew explains the positive economic feedback loop in energy. In order for energy to be viable, it must remain affordable, reliable and abundant so that countries can then utilize that energy to industrialize and create prosperity.

In the second video of this series, @magattew exposes the high mortality rate of Africans, roughly 800,000 deaths, due to indoor biomass pollution. These deaths are linked to Western policies that have effectively prevented Africans from developing their own energy resources.

In this first episode of the Prosperity, Not Poverty podcast, @magattew sits down with @KonstantinKisin to reflect on ideology, freedom, and the real choice in climate policy: do we prioritize human flourishing? The two also discuss the concept of Net Zero and how such ideological thinking is shaping today's climate movement. 🎧 Listen now. youtu.be/kivyZqcKRFA

Ahead of COP30, Bill Gates rejected climate “doomsday” narratives—but stopped short of addressing how past policies have harmed developing regions. In this video, @magattew explores how restrictions on fossil fuel investment have limited Africa’s access to reliable energy, and therefore held back economic growth. It argues that real progress requires opportunity, not aid—and makes the case to “let Africa fuel Africa” as a path to prosperity.

@magattew Fossil fuel firms have exploited African nations for almost 100yrs. You can take action on climate change AND decrease energy poverty. Only a fossil fuel lobby group would suggest otherwise.

@magattew Energy and warmer climates support larger populations. That’s the reason both are being weaponized, population reduction is the goal.

Drilling for oil and gas "will not ⬇️ bills or deliver energy security" and new lisences for "marginal projects" could lead to ⬆️ "state support and overall decommissioning costs for the taxpayer." Here’s why, according to the UK Energy Research Centre @UKERCHQ 🧵 👇
