"What’s needed — now, not later — is clear language from all the candidates for mayor, including Adams, that they are prepared to engage the Trump administration and define the limits of where and how New York will talk about immigrants’ rights." nymag.com/intelligencer/…

Focusing solely on how Trump’s margin of victory increased in NYC can obscure what actually happened. It wasn’t primarily driven by Democrats switching to Trump, but Dems staying home.
Zohran Kwame Mamdani@ZohranKMamdani

In New York City, Trump won 94,000 more votes than he did in 2020 – a significant shift that we must reckon with.  But 573,000 fewer New Yorkers voted for Harris. That’s the far bigger challenge to confront.

Bernie is absolutely right. The far right is winning because Democrats won’t change. People are hurting & they’re tired of broken promises, watered-down policies, and empty rhetoric while their communities suffer. Trump was handed this election by a feckless immobile elite.
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.

Please read my op-ed in @thenation & help make our movement 💪🏾💪🏽💪🏻 in NY by voting for Harris-Walz on the Working Families Party Line (Row D!) Be sure to vote for all the @nywfp candidates on Row D, and flip your ballot and vote: ✅ YES on prop 1 ❌ NO on props 2 to 6
The Nation@thenation

Kamala Harris may not be the perfect candidate, but when we vote Harris/Walz on the WFP line, we are signaling that we are voting for her as part of a movement that needs her to do better. By @CynthiaNixon: bit.ly/48z2Kwg
