This might be a hot take but I know someone at meta who makes $400k a year and is quite literally capped at that number for life - likely will never get a promotion strong enough to change that.

Who is making 70k a year? Like take home 70k? I’m almost 35 and the most I’ve ever made working 7 days a week, 2 jobs is 46k after taxes. Idk anyone who makes 70k after taxes besides like engineers

@Shpigford My 2 cents, DEVONthink but difficult/expensive to share with another user. Perhaps Just use a cloud based file system with perhaps houdahspot for search

does no one deal with decades of PDF files? why is everyone recommending obsidian?
i don't need text editing. i need file storage with an substantial OCR + indexing + search layer.
there's basically *zero* native raw text here.

evernote is doubling the price of my subscription to an arguably insane price, even for a PE-acquired business. we've got 15+ years of docs stored there (huge % are scanned PDFs). trying to figure out my move here. i don't want another note taking app. i kind of just want a vault for dumping all our random document files (again, mostly PDFs) that's thoroughly indexed/searchable. big caveat: needs to be also be easily shared with my wife. wonder if there's something there from a biz perspective? 🤔
