This woman lives in Boston, Massachusetts. She has a 6 month old child and needs childcare but she heard it was expensive She films herself walking into KinderCare, she got a quote: - 2 days a week cost $2,450 per month - 3 days a week cost $3,115 per month + $200 initiation fee yearly “Like that is crazy” “This is a true problem in the United States. Like this is really a legitimate problem that needs to be addressed because people can't afford childcare”

@Zhero00 @CharlieIceman2 @WallStreetApes For infants, the ratio is mandated at 1:3, toddlers is 1:4, and preschool is 1:10 which is why costs get cheaper the older your kids are. Factor in floating teachers to cover breaks, janitors, rent, health insurance, liability insurance... cost checks out... and is also so high!

@JeffJacksonNC As a taxpayer, I would like to have that money back, or at least know what is being researched! If a university can pay a basketball coach millions of dollars a year, the should be able to fund their own damn research. Just more of the Democratic slush! You need to do better!

Yesterday proved why North Carolina needs an Attorney General who has the authority to challenge unlawful executive orders. We won an injunction against an order that would have cut hundreds of millions in research funding from our public universities and research institutions - threatening thousands of jobs and innovation across the state. It was a reminder that an important part of this job is being a shield against unlawful federal acts that would undercut our economy and hurt our future. For the good of our state, that shield should remain in place.

@lindawiliams @JeffJacksonNC Yes, because USAID was huge too and look at the mess that was in that. If it's tax dollars we should be able to see the list. Just publish on a university website.

@cmclymer It’s less what and more how. OP is right that on, say, a video game podcast, many of the ads are for right wing podcasts who advertise themselves as reasonable but are not. I’ve NEVER heard a single ad from the left on one of them, so of course the pull is in one direction.

Can someone please explain to me what exactly it is that young men want to hear from VP Harris that she’s not already saying? And please be specific. I want to hear *exactly* what you’d have her say to them.

Check out our latest from the Patterson Lab - a method to assess cardiomyocyte division along with many other useful metrics all from the same heart: cell.com/cell-reports-m… Hoping the bench top protocol is not far behind! @ScientistSwift

He then showed that the initial enriched GO terms in the DGE b/t WT MI and KO MI mice, largely genes associated with fibroblast abundance (which was old news!) lost significance while novel genes involved in fundamental heart integrity were highlighted as crucially important!

Myocardial infarctions change both cell-specific expression and cell-type abundance. Can we algorithmically disentangle these two signals in bulk RNAseq data? Yes! Excited to share the first paper from the Rau lab, led by @BrianGural! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We have a lot more happening with this approach, with exciting results to share shortly about what happens when you apply this algorithm to-scale across 100s of RNAseq datasets. We want to understand the noise that cell-type composition adds to our analyses!
