My blue heeler appreciation post has blown up and it has come to my attention that rural farm culture may not translate properly to our new Japanese friends so let me lay out a couple things in clear terms.
1. Heelers are a mix of working dogs and wild dog (although the wild dog is quite a ways back in their bloodline at this point). They are prone to nipping and being destructive for attention. Unless you find yourself a calm breed, are a very strict owner, or have the ability to run them more often then you could believe was necessary I do not recommend them as family house pets.
2. A heeler is THE working dog. If they do not have a job to do they will get destructive and mean.
3. If you happen to come upon a heeler that you do not know, make sure you talk to the owner first before petting them. they can be very territorial of their perceived space.
4. Heelers may be one of the toughest breeds of dog out there and we as owners are VERY proud of that fact. When we say things like "I have seen this dog get absolutely stomped by a mean old cow" or "she got run over buy the tractor and kept on working" we're not taking sadistic pride in the harm of our dogs, these dogs put themselves in harms way in the course of their job (or in the case of getting hit by vehicles, perceived job protecting or herding something) and we are always amazed by their ability to get up, shake it off, and get right back to work.
This is Bluey, she's a grade A good girl.
It is my honor to share my current foster: Bobby. I saw him on a short list for euthanasia after he was surrendered for “a snake bite on his paw”. He may be the actual love of my life.
This is our first pic together riding home for the first time. He sits on his booty because his front legs are painful to stand on, not because of a snake bite, but he was shot with a BB gun by his owners and never cared for. Despite all that he’s the world’s cutest boy and the sweetest face in Dallas.
He looks like he’s about to order his own pup cup post your pups and their silly poses!
He claims that he represents Oklahomans, but because of the REPUBLICAN SHUTDOWN, 637,600 Oklahomans will lose their SNAP right before the holidays.
@SenMullin DOES NOT represent the hard working people and FARMERS in Oklahoma.
He ONLY works and answers to Donald Trump.
@4thOfJuly365 This would be more believable if you showed receipts. The average price per gallon is $3.04. If you live in Oklahoma you might get $2.99
If you live in any major metropolitan area you’re paying more than $2.79. So I’ll chalk your post up as more BS
Here are the worst parts of the New Wizard of Oz show experience at Sphere Las Vegas. Though overall this is a fantastic version of a classic film, I wanted to give an honest review showcasing the good & the bad. #vegas#lasvegas#vegasstarfish#wizardofoz#sphere
