@Tispai It's all good, you never know who you're talking to on the internet. I also empathize practicing for store regionals, but I'm glad that there's a possibility I won't have to prepare for certain things. All of these tweets could boil down to nothing as they just unban kata pair.

Normally I would call this a greed move, however... If you got hands on boxes they were sold to you at prerelease before actual release week and bandai is responding before the week they go live for legal play, so it's actually not a "haha we got your money" move.

@AFoamsmith See the thing is that I prepped for a couple weeks for the Store championships in April So I would prefer the bans to happen mid set if I was more selfish But the bans happening early is better since yellow is insanely frustrating

@AFoamsmith I'm not hating, im just saying that me and other people can definitely feel ho'd in this instance For sure, it's better sooner than later and it seems much more incompetence than malicious but it doesn't change the fact that the timing is still very annoying

@Tispai Yeah, but you seem REAL smart. So you know they won't do that. You know they aren't gonna say "ban this card coming out" so when you rip the pack it's not a feels bad. I'm also guessing your smarts carry over and tell you you didn't buy a box for the one card that could get hit

@Tispai Well, if you play, you're already looking at how the current eastern meta is shaking down. If you've been playing for a while, you'll remember what happened when they released Black Maria and how they had already prebanned the leader abusing it to stop it in EN Meta.

@AFoamsmith My issues with their ban is twofold 1. They should've banned requasar+Borsalino with the pudding ban 2. They should've announced bans last Thursday or Friday before their own prereleases at their official store which they sell a OP15 booster box after the event is over

@Tispai Yeah, no exception. The announcement is coming out before the legality of play for these cards. They didn't wait half the set's life when inventory was distributed en masse before they hit us with it. Make informed buyer decisions.

moonbreon is an exception to the rule likely seen as the best card of sword and shield era and it’s the best card of evolving skies that is why there is so much additional demand compare that with the evolving skies espeon alt art why would this card go up 300% in 2027 or 2028 the answer is it won’t the second and third order mega evolutions or scarlet violet cards in a set will not hold these sale prices

This card is emblematic for the pokémon “crash” of 2027. When the flippers are gone, and people realize their collections won’t infinitely go up and to the right, the whispers of panic will start. Group chats will hear of liquidations and to avoid holding “the bag” cards will start to flood the market with no liquidity. TCG or any auction based market i.e. ebay will always need buyers to price support. If no one bids on the auctions there will be constant downward pressure on values. That downward pressure sets new lows, sets new panic, and sets new sale demand. This creates a cycle of falling single prices. Don’t believe me? Ask the basketball and football fans who purchased hot rookies in 2018-2020. Once the buyers at auctions dried up their rookie PSA 10s fell off and then spiraled off a cliff. Even sealed wasn’t safe. Look at the graph I posted of the 2019 prizm box. Sealed out of print will hold steady with natural supply constraints but modern cards with PSA 10 pops of 30,000+ will not hold. The prices you see of phantasmal, ascended, destined rivals, third or fourth chase level and below will fall into irrelevance as new money / flippers / scalpers chase the new 2026, 2027, 2028 product. That new money will chase new product and won’t get diverted to the third or forth best card in the set years later. Think Tyler Herro of 2019 nba rookies. The Pokémon market won’t go away but if you think your $1,000 psa 10 ultra modern pokémon cards will be worth $10,000 in 2 years I would reconsider.
