@vmohv Idk I play a lot of Devil May Cry and the combat still felt lacking even though I tried my best to do cool combos and whatnot. I think it just has to do with the game not going all in on the action game design and it doesn’t really award you in any way for playing stylish.

it really does feel like the general audience’s dislike for ff16 combat is a result of sqenix just not incentivising players enough to engage with the gameplay system anymore than a casual would need for a single playthrough and let the passionate players thrive on ng+ w/ ff mode

Strive redesigns aren’t bad but I think people’s biggest problem with them is that the strive designs just wouldn’t be iconic if that’s how the character debuted, and I agree lol

The story stinks but I've been having a good time with Fire Emblem Engage, some of the most fun gameplay in the series for sure. However, I am 70+ hours in, and I think they make fire emblem games way too long nowadays
