@MikaelaStiver @zoom_us We can also make a concerted effort to go to smaller groups - we can't go directly from a classroom lecture to a video lecture with 50-150 learners. One can successfully engage online with 5-15 learners. #Anatomy20 #AnatomyDEI

@ToppK @zoom_us Wonderful suggestions! I reckon things will only get smoother as educators and students alike acclimatize to online formats.

Facilitating and maintaining student engagement is so much more straightforward face-to-face. Even in my small @zoom_us tutorials most students opt to turn off audio/video, limiting their interaction to the chat... anyone have any tips or tricks to liven things up? #Anatomy20

@DrMAMcNulty @DrMAMcNulty Heard a great tip this morning in the AAA PT Interest Group gathering. Insert a time for learners to share their best, clean joke. Also, consider a game of BINGO in the break. Change out numbers for the week's experiences, foods, etc. Jeopardy with anatomy terms.

And when we do have a cadaver with significant adipose, we need to immediately curb students' comments during lab! This is an opportunity to teach inclusivity, and help them carry the thoughts into their clinical practice and larger world.

@anatomalli @anatomalli Our school has a willed body program and makes careful choices for cadavers for local use. Seems we keep the "best", but this doesn't give the students exposure to diversity in body type or shape.

@angeliquee_93 @angeliquee_93 Let's commit to doing better! Let's modify our handouts, remind our students, ask colleagues to model for surface anatomy sessions!

Q4 Textbook images are often of persons of different apparent sexes, but rarely of different gender identities, physical abilities, body weights, ages, or body shapes. How are you thinking about INCLUSIVITY in anatomy education? @AnatomyDEI #Anatomy20

@ToppK At #Mizzou we use Clinically Oriented Anatomy. It’s a hefty book but I like the 🟦.
