@Totally_Offside They’d need a team to claim him and then retain. Are you back or just popped back over?
English

@CM_Hockey29 Yes. Sports Twitter is fully moving there. Just a matter of time.
English

@Totally_Offside Is it actually better for sports? Bc this place is a wasteland.
English

@Billy_chilly One of, if not the most iconic races in the sport and people want to get rid of it. Absolutely wild.
English

This will piss off Americans which means that's good

@AustonWhite3 My biggest issue with him was loyalty to Keefe, who I don't think fit what the team needed.
English

@Totally_Offside That’s my issue with dubas. There were very few moves (trades and FA) where I was like wtf are we doing, which happens with many other teams. But ultimately we didn’t or couldn’t win so it doesn’t matter
English

@AustonWhite3 Ha I think prospects are different. They are so far removed from what they will ultimately become. As far as free agents go, I've gone "yup. That makes sense" so many times when Dubas signed a guy (including Jarry) and it just kept falling to pieces.
English

@Totally_Offside Hopefully hildebeast or AA(ahl goalie that I can’t spell) prove this wrong though lol
English

@Mosboss27 It's tough. It was a long shot. But, ultimately, ownerships, the fans, the players, etc. didn't want to trade off the core that brought them 3 cups. They want them to retire pens. Not sure what choice there was/is. Also not sure I'd think any different if I was a pens fan.
English

@Totally_Offside I don’t think Dubas or anybody had a chance at making this team competitive
Even with Guentzal they weren’t there
English

@AustonWhite3 I think he did a better job finding contributing depth on the leafs than the pens. If there is something that's been the same, it's that he made a bet on a goalie with a decent stat profile and it has fallen apart. If there is a talent to picking goalies, he doesn't have it.
English

@Totally_Offside Agreed tbh. And the return for Karlson other than the 1st were overpaid underperforming players. I really don’t think that’s the issue. Tbh it’s kinda like the leafs where his core is solid but it’s the supplementary guys that aren’t
English

@Mosboss27 Yup. They were justifiable and I can't say I could have done better but, when you take a job at that point in the window, you accept that you don't have room for many misses.
English

@Totally_Offside Yeah agreed
But again, I liked some of the moves and they just have turned out poorly
Graves and Bunting were good adds in my opinion. Graves has really struggled.
Bunting looked great last year but bad this year.
Goaltending has been a real negative too
English

@Mosboss27 Yeah they'd rather have the pick than karlsson because the rest of their moves sank them and they aren't looking like they'll be able to use what's left of his premium hockey play (at least this season). But Karlsson, in a vacuum, was worth the return imo.
English

@Totally_Offside The Karlsson trade was a win on paper
Obviously in reality they’d much rather have that 1st round pick.
It made sense at the time.
I’ve even liked some of the other moves they made, but again, didn’t pan out great..
English

@Leafer1984 Yup. For sure. I think other guys have been way farther below my expectations/hopes so he isn't generally earning my ire. Domi looks to have taken a step back for example and also isn't scoring, while making 4.5x more...
English

@Leafer1984 Definitely needs to score more given that's his calling card but I haven't had a particular issue with the way he has played. Good motor.
