@nicksortor 🔥YES!!! This MASSIVE turnout in rural Virginia is straight-up PROOF that America is NOT dead.
The silent majority is ROARING back!

@GuntherEagleman Yippie. You MAGAts started this mid-term garbage in Texas - take your medicine.

@RogerFord163776 @soxmachine_josh Deals can be made and money talks. It’s in the interest of both developers that these stadiums get built so deals will be done. Personally I’d like to see the stadium on the west side, but the site is very challenging.
English

@soxmachine_josh Something’s that’s been overlooked regarding The 78 is that since approval was given for the Fire stadium, Alderwoman Dowell has repeatedly said she does not want a 2nd stadium there. That’s a major impediment that makes the Amtrak property a more likely scenario for the Sox.
English

@soxmachine_josh I would hardly say “plenty of space” - more like it will barely fit. The site is plenty long but thin. Also - Metra is going nowhere so that’s a hard wall.
The two images shown clearly shows a stadium on the east side. Those graphics are new with the stadium design revised.

@TheChadTate @soxmachine_josh I doubt retention ponds are required in downtown Chicago. There are underground systems to deal with this.
English

@TrailsCzar @soxmachine_josh The retention pond is part of the development approval
I highly doubt MWRD would change that on a large project that has already broke ground.
English

Yeah, Justin Ishbia has every intention of moving the team to the South Loop.

More from the presentation.
English

@soxmachine_josh @rock_beats_papr Plans can change - Ishba can easily work with the other developer on a land swap or some other agreement to make it work. Both stadiums located here would be a windfall for each.
English

@rock_beats_papr @TrailsCzar Cool, but this is the Fire's plan.
Also, Ishbia hired a different real estate developer for the White Sox stadium project.
His stadium will be on the other side of the river.

English

@soxmachine_josh Very tight on the west side and Metra going nowhere. The renderings also show the stadium on the east side. I think the west side would be better too (better skyline).
English

@TrailsCzar The Fire need to build a retention pond where you have the Sox stadium
English

@JGee2061450 @SoxOn35th Yep. No room to build on Amtrak side unless you nix about all outfield seats.
English

@SoxOn35th I’m confused
The article says stadium footprint would be on new land acquisition…. and yet the renderings show the stadium on 78 side of the river and ballpark village on new land

A Friday presentation offered new details about Justin Ishbia’s plans for the 14th Street Rail Yard.

For those of you keeping score at home, your @IUHoosiers have 25 national titles compared to 3 for @PurdueSports.
They chase regular-season wins; we chase championships.

English

I've seen enough. From these new images to the size the Amtrak yard up for debate, the Sox will be relocating to the south of the new Fire stadium. I've patched together a series of plans from the area (very close to scale) to show how this should come together. @whitesox
