In a very revealing conversation, Tucker and Buckley Carlson discuss something many people may not know: Donald Trump is obsessed with WASPs. Why could that be? Tucker: “He hates wasps, but he’s also obsessed with them. I’ve talked to him about it many times…he’s very fixated on the WASP thing and does talk about it a lot.” Buckley: “There’s another group in America that’s kind of fixated on the WASPs too.” Tucker: “Yeah, well yeah, I’ve noticed that too.” Buckley: “Equal fervor and hostility.” Tucker: “If you have the total displacement after over 200 years of the American ruling class by a new group, that’s a big thing, but nobody says a word about it. And I’m not even taking sides in it. Though, you know, obviously I have a side to take…But like that happened. It happened over 40 years and now it’s complete. And like, no one can say that that happened. Are you kidding?”

@Raudenbusch1 @CWingUexkull Yaeger was the most Anglo of the bunch His paternal last name may be an anglicized version of Jager But theres no german or dutch evidence within five generations on the direct paternal line Every line of his other than his paternal surname is anglo going back to 1700s

The Anglo-Teutonic hybrid frontier that stretches through the American Midwest produced some of the most remarkable specimens of the first half of the 20th century, when modernity brought isolated ethnic farm populations into closer contact with each other. German communities also faced increased pressure to assimilate & hybridize during & after WW1. Here we have Neil Armstrong (Scottish + German, born Wapakoneta Ohio); John Glenn (British + German, Cambridge Ohio); Deke Slayton (English + Norwegian, Sparta Wisconsin); & Charles Lindbergh (Swedish + British, Detroit).

For anyone not familiar with Chicago, Lower Wacker is explicitly designed to not be walked around on. It’s essentially an underground expressway.

@Born2Win95 @left2reigns Because Brock likely knows the work he’ll have to put in to make Oba look good every week The guy is unfinished and borderline dangerous in complicated matches Brok gave him his cred Now he can burn thru mid carders in quick and simple matches as he develops

They really told an impactful story in such a short match it’s just CRAZY. – We’ve always seen Brock Lesnar as the beast who just dominates everybody in the ring. – At the start Brock tried to bully Oba Femi, but Oba hit right back and treated him like a complete jobber. Bro straight up threw Lesnar out of the ring. – You could see how frustrated Brock got. He’s never been bullied like that before. Even Paul Heyman’s face was perfect. (It was displaying the fact that Brock is old now) – The way Oba pulled Brock’s hair… I bet Lesnar told him to do it, because i never seen someone treating brock like that ,but damn, Oba looked like an absolute monster there – And when Oba didn’t even sell that F5, man, it made him straight up menacing. Then he crushed Brock and pinned him clean. – A new star is born and his name is Oba Femi. – Brock Lesnar did his job PERFECTLY.

@CatchUpFeed Sad tragedy. That’s not cold blood though. Boxer didn’t intent to kill him just beat him and then showed remorse immediately after. Cold blood would have been beating him until he finally dies and then walking away with a smile.

A Turkish boxer murdered a florist in cold blood by punching him so hard that it shattered his skull. The victim’s sister had the audacity to share a photo of the fighter’s wife’s floral bouquet on the shop’s Instagram page. The woman got mad about it and sent her husband to confront the florist. The fighter lost his temper the instant the victim walked in and killed him on the spot. The florist had no idea anything was wrong.

@chicagobars This saddens me. I went to NIU late 80s. Back then IIRC the various IL state Us each had diff focus - NIU was biz, I think WIU was teaching - Idk what SIU/EIU was - then each of these schools shifted be everything to everyone. This premise is probably wrong tho, lol. Still sad 🙁

@tnertz @2024dion NIU has become an absolute trash school My son was in the engineering program and left due to TA’s who couldn’t speak english, blatant systematic cheating, and just an all around poor college experience The directional schools all need a colonic

EIU is the largest employer in its rural 17,000 resident town by a country mile. The decline of college enrollment is going to crush so many viable small towns in this country. It’s really sad.

In Spring of 2016, the on campus enrollment at Eastern Illinois University was 6,991. In Spring of 2026, it was 3,660. That's a decline of 48% in just ten years. This is happening right now to dozens of directional universities throughout the Midwest.

In Chicago's Chinatown, tons of families are walking around, having a good time. Then a homeless man, clearly strung out, wanders into the crowd and starts screaming. Literally just screaming. Now everyone is uncomfortable. People walk away, try to shield their kids from him. Lines outside of businesses disperse. Why is a single, asocial individual allowed to monopolize a public space like this and make everyone feel unsafe? Who benefits from allowing that homeless man to go without treatment? Clearly not him. Clearly not the rest of us.

Barbara Flynn Currie was a trailblazer, becoming the first female majority leader in the history of the Illinois House. But as the veteran representative when I was a state senator, she was also a great partner — smart, independent and pragmatic, showing all of us that it was possible to operate with integrity in politics and still be effective. Michelle and I are thinking of her family today, and everyone who benefitted from her extraordinary life of service.
