When Mayor-elect Mamdani takes office, he will control over 6,300 miles of streets throughout the five boroughs. Reducing car dependence is one of the best ways to reduce costs for New Yorkers. Owning a car costs nearly $9,000 annually, while taking transit costs just $1,500.

We’re building the Manhattan-side bike lane and pedestrian entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge in time for the World Cup. New Yorkers deserve to enjoy the game on their feet, on their bikes, and with ease.

Congestion pricing has been a huge success. Traffic is down. Business is up. The cameras are staying on.

It will allow New Yorkers on bikes to get on and off the bridge easily, and give pedestrians more room to walk. This project is a win-win, and it's wise to get it done before the World Cup, when there'll be even more people on the bridge — both on two feet and two wheels!

Giving pedestrians and cyclists separate lanes on the bridge was a major step forward, but they're still competing for space at the entrance. The redesign announced today will finally fix that issue.

Because super speeders are such significant repeat offenders, residents in the top 20 districts are exposed to speeding violations 10 times more often than in the bottom 20 districts. Super speeders were caught speeding in the top 13 as many times as the bottom 52 combined.

Versions of the “Stop Super Speeders” bill have been included in both Governor Hochul’s preliminary budget proposal and the State Senate’s one-house budget proposal. It's time for the Assembly to step up to the plate and slow down the most dangerous drivers.

NEW DATA: Residents of Assembly District 23 (southwest Queens) are terrorized by super speeders more often than any other district. Super speeders were caught speeding in school zones in AD-23 more than 17,000 times last year, or once every 30 minutes.
