@michaelxbloch Agreed. Going long on energy infrastructure and cannabis genetics + manufacturing. The latter is painfully overlooked right now, especially with rescheduling on the horizon.

This is one of the most underrated observations in tech right now. if AI commoditizes software, what's actually safe? - regulated and liability-bearing businesses (someone has to be on the hook) - anything touching the physical world (hardware, manufacturing, energy) - proprietary data sets (AI makes your data more valuable, not less) - marketplaces and businesses with network effects (liquidity > software) - operationally intense businesses (the "bad" businesses become the best ones) - cybersecurity and physical security (more AI = more attack surface)
BuccoCapital Bloke@buccocapital

For 50 yrs we treated the supremacy of asset-light businesses as a permanent economic law But if AI commoditizes asset-light businesses, we’d just be reverting to the historical mean where value accrued to atoms, infrastructure, energy It would be a 50 year blip. An anomaly

@Blueraydre If this were to go down, I’d assume that privacy coins and tech become even more important, no?

@sturtdoinks A pioneer in the edible game. Too many overlook his contributions and often don’t even bother to cover folks on that side of things, just mostly history covering ppl in flower.

@realcmart @srg444 Seen them in both Tennessee and Georgia sold individually around that price. Maybe some retailers have them cheaper, but the avg price is still higher than Cutwater. THC beverages are still priced like concession stand drinks. This will change over time, tho!

@TreasureTrunks @srg444 Where are you buying Senorita? They sell on their website for $16.99/4-pack and in Binny’s (Midwest) for $14.99. I have never seen them for $5.50-$6.50.

The critical difference between these two: one is made with plants that produce THC; and the other is made from plants that ferment/produce ethyl alcohol. Both can be “intoxicating”, both require 21+, both come in liquid can form, both cost about the same, both are found everywhere, and both are delicious cold. One makes many feel like shit and do stupid shit; one makes you feel better (especially the next morning) with 66% less calories. One flows like water at Fortune 1000 corporate events. And encouraged. One used to get you fired, and now still comically shunned by most C-suites. One is understood. One is wildly misunderstood. Beverages changed the game for THC, whether you enjoy them or don’t. Whether they are your “go to” or your “on occasion” (🙋). They are nearly identical to booze today in terms of “adult use” Happy Memorial Day. Legalize it. $GTBIF $AGFY @Bkov9 @CutwaterSpirits

@joncappetta Yea, that decline from the COVID highs has been ugly. I still think $HOOD and $COIN will return to ATH’s by next Summer.

@TreasureTrunks i was teasing - they were well valued at the ipo bc of the covid/free money trading activity. i’ve got a bunch of shares from then, and i’m still down almost 40% from it, so i do hope for the best for them - but that was a moment in time that feels just like buying the high.

@joncappetta Different game these days. A lot of their recent quarterly reports showing increasing trading activity + onboarding of legacy accts with ~7 figure balances. Also, I believe it is the best proxy play for institutional investors looking for exposure to crypto.

every year i try to save the weirdos right before a big moment for something special. i’ve got the rest of the year mapped out but can’t figure out what to do for the pre-4/20 rant so i’m opening it up to the floor: who do you want to see write a weirdos piece?

@joncappetta Ohhhh shit! Never heard that term before but “moonrock crowd” is the perfect description! In many ways, there are some parallels between 4Loko and Jeeters. Two different eras though similar buyer psychology!

@TreasureTrunks jeeter is tapping into the ‘moonrock’ crowd as i like to call them - a base that doesn’t understand quality just wants to pay the least to get as fucked up as possible. it’s an audience with perceived experience, but little actual understanding. in america that’s a HUGE base.

I’ve heard @joncappetta mention the “invisible army” across multiple interviews now in regards to certain brands. Could we possibly get a Weirdos piece expanding on this topic? I really wanna hear more.

@joncappetta Although it’s str8 trash and sprayed on terps, Jeeters clearly found an invisible army that worships them, which is nuts to me!

@TreasureTrunks catering to the ‘invisible armies’ that actually exist and not the consumer personas outsiders are using to segment the market will provide more long term benefit for your brand. basically playing for your base vs the world. actually, the Deep East piece I’m working deals w this.

@joncappetta Ahh, got it! Pretty much identifying and catering to your niche following that connect with your brand (or product format) in a unique way. I love what Deo is doing with DeepEast, btw!

@TreasureTrunks sure! i’ve got my topics laid out for the next 3 pieces i have to do but i can def get this one in before EOY - essentially it’s not clearly visible or expected market segments. for example, all the new jack cannabis brands are targeting the ‘wine mom’ bc of her spending power -

@GucciTraderTalk CashApp dominates pop culture circles by a longshot, especially in urban communities. If folks took any time to speak with people outside of their tiny bubble, they would know Hip-Hop is driving massive adoption of CashApp.

I’m a big fan of $SQ. But I don’t buy the FinTwit argument that Square Cash is winning over Venmo. This is subjective, but I don’t know ANYONE who uses Square Cash, everyone I know and meet seem to only have Venmoes. That being said, I don’t own any $PYPL
