@LaLlave1704 Currently most items attract 3% import duty and items from 3rd countries (UK) will attract 12% EU Tarrif. The 15% Gib tax is applied to the landed cost which includes freight + EU tarrif. Total costs go from 3% to 28% rising to 30% in 2028 for UK items.

If local business currently pay 10-12% import duty, the transaction tax will only increase the cost of goods by 3%, why is everyone loosing their shit over the 15% transactions tax which replaces import duties? Explain like I am 5 yrs old?

My Canadian pals L-R. Elizabeth Model @ 100 Ironman finishes, John Wragg at 275 Ironman finishes & Glen Gundermann at 10. Nobody in the world is near husband & wife Model & Wragg who have a combined goal of 400x across the line in an Ironman. Truly incredible accomplishment.

@tri247 Having done many full distance events all over the world IMO the @OutlawTriathlon is best value for money full distance event. I did the first one in 2010 and it was superb.

How cool for our sport. Triathlon's Olympic Mens Gold Medal @Lixsanyee will be carrying the flag for his nation at tonight's closing ceremony. I remember @simonwhitfield carrying it in 2000 in Sydney. Have there been any other triathletes carry into the closing ceremony?

@Timheming Lisa Tertsch was also a standout performer for me in the relay. Such a shame she came off the bike in the individual event I think she would have made the podium.

Fastest male and female splits from Olympic triathlon mixed team relay. Alex Yee (GBR): 20:03 Taylor Knibb (USA): 22:13 Knibb's is the standout here. It's 15 seconds faster than the next best of Germany's Laura Lindemann (also on the anchor leg)

Key moment of relay was Pierre Le Corre crash. Le Corre: "I was right behind him, I couldn't do anything." Said Wilde came into corner "a bit aggressive" but felt it was a racing incident. Other athletes I spoke to said similar.

@GibReserve Can I please suggest the banning of smoking in the Nature Reserve. Probably a good idea in order to reduce the risk of a fire.

Management work on the firebreaks is happening now. Important for fire safety but also critical for biodiversity as it provides open habitat for many species.

@Timheming It looked like Dickinson did his fair share of work on the front of the bike group and then proved he had the faster run so based on current form he must be the favourite.

Dickinson wins in Poland, beating Brownlee into third place by 3sec in a sprint finish. Is that the end of the road for Jonathan Brownlee's bid for a fourth Olympic Games and fourth consecutive Olympic medal? Down to selectors now with decision due around June 10.
