That's stupid logic. The depth, heart, grittiness is all still there, it just doesn't have Superman kill. Lessons learned, action had, destruction en masse, dark, brooding, no crazy canon breaks, lots of fun AND it has a better setup for BvS. You can just not like the idea - but what I suggested would have worked better, had less people angry, and still been a crazy good spectacle.

@LukeB4tt @yawaramin @CoveredGeekly I mean wanting to change the entire climax of the movie so that he doesn't kill a genocidal war criminal, that cant be held in a prison or killed by any man made weapons is kind of stupid logic to me. Since it still follows comics that were canon and the theatrical Superman 2.

Pa Kent's death and 'keep your secret until you're ready' could still land as his dying words. Zod's death does carry weight and sets up Clark's struggle with killing. But it felt like the easy dramatic choice instead of truly earning the no-kill rule - like realizing you can kill, and choosing not to. On the Phantom Zone: Postponing the close so Zod's ship + most Kryptonians get sucked in first works as an alt to killing pretty well IMO. Leave a couple Kryptonian stragglers in the fresh Kryptonian field zone. Have a human soldier (Hardy/Guardian from the Smallville fight) take one down there - proving Kryptonians are vulnerable under those conditions. Gives the military a real win and shows the audience the terrain matters. Zod watches his last warrior fall to 'weak' humans? He goes nuclear. Perfect fuel for the final brawl in that same Kryptonian-soil area. Clark gets wrecked (physically + verbally), has the breakdown scream, then realizes he's been soaking up yellow sun his whole life while Zod's only had hours. Turns it around through conviction - Truth, Justice, the American Way vs. Zod's conquest - and wins without the neck snap. Zod gets KO'd and sent into the PZ, and the military takes custody of the Kryptonian bodies (prime Lex experiment material). Keeps the threat alive for future films without making Superman kill his last living connection to Krypton. Plenty of ways to do it without the kill, and it would've made Clark's heroism feel truly earned.

@LukeB4tt @yawaramin @CoveredGeekly -They were able to give those dying words without even saying anything. Just from a simple hand gesture and a nod. -He killed Zod in the comics for over 20 yrs. After killing Zod is usually when he vows not to kill again. Also in Reeves until the Donner cut.

@TheRightColumn @JackCarr713062 @Fictiontokk Dont get unhinged. Doesnt matter if he's invulnerable. The point is to keep his secret safe. By doing so he sacraficed himself to do just that. Its not about what Clark can do its about what he should do. He should listen to his father and reveal himself when hes needed most.

@LukeB4tt @yawaramin @CoveredGeekly -His death had weight for the character thats why he stayed hidden for as long as he did. To keep the promise to his father. -Sending Zod and the rest back in the phantom zone was already done in the Donner Cut. -Nobody knew that Kryptonite had formed yet. Until BvS

Postpone the scene where the phantom zone closes, and throw him in. Zod's ship and the other Kryptonians could still be sucked in before that moment, which leads to Zod going nuts, but he should have been thrown in there. Or you take the fight to the ground zero location where there is freshly formed Kryptonite, and we first learn about a substance that can stop Kryptonians/Superman here, and have Clark defeat him on "Kryptonian Soil". There's a bunch of ways other than forcing Clark to kill. As for Pa Kent - it's because if you're going to force a parent's death on a super hero, then it should have weight and leave a lasting impression.

@LukeB4tt @yawaramin @CoveredGeekly So if the neck snap was an easy fix what is the fix? People want Pa Kent to get a illness or have a medical emergency for Clark to learn a lesson but why? Growing up you naturally learn there are things cant control. That part of his story is a little played out imo.

Hardly. The entire first 20-30 min on Krypton was great. I loved Zod turning up. I loved Clark going to the priest asking for help. I loved the military scenes. I loved the fights. I loved finding the ship and learning about who he is. Russell Crowe was AMAZING as Jor-El. Lois tracking him down was awesome. I even loved how we learn about his exploits via 2nd-hand experiences while Lois was tracking him down. I really only have a few issues, that could have been fixed in the writing room, but *shrug* I have no issue with Pa Kent dying, I just didn't like that it was preventable - I preferred the lesson he learned in the original Superman movie, that there are some things that super powers can't stop, that humans die of natural causes, and there is nothing Clark can do to stop those things. I loved the bar/truck, but I'd also have liked him to reflect on how he could have handled that better, and thus introduce the bumbling Clark persona. I loved the fight with Zod, and the destruction of the city - literally pulled straight out of the comics and cartoons, but the neck snap was an annoying and easy to fix moment.

@Triplekiller51 @JackCarr713062 @Fictiontokk If either of them had half a brain, they would have had Johnathan help the people back while Clark grabbed the dog. Clark wouldn't have gotten stuck and could have gotten back to the overpass without using powers.

@JackCarr713062 @Fictiontokk How was he supposed to save him? Superman can't use comic book super speed with humans in this universe. It's called physics.

@Fictiontokk They don't even realize Snyder added Gunn cultist into BvS before they even existed, in the form of Lex. Lex frames Superman exactly how Gunn cultists do.

XEON SUPES #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
Double standard by GunnLards and their delusion is insane. #Superman tried to stop Zod from annihilation of human kind, he did what he had to do to save the innocent VS Kill Ultraman by trapping him into black hole and kill Krem with her swords to his throat. Two killers in #DCU
