[NATIONAL SALUTE] We mourn the tragic loss of a hero, Constable Raymond Mzwakhe Khoza, who was stationed at Brakpan SAPS under the Visible Policing: Crime Prevention Unit. Constable Khoza was fatally shot in the early hours of yesterday, Friday, 17 October 2025, at his home in Tsakane. Preliminary reports indicate that the off-duty officer was alerted by his neighbour to suspicious persons outside the yard. Upon investigating, the member was ambushed and shot multiple times. His service firearm was stolen during the incident. Swift response by SAPS units led to the arrest of a local drug dealer, who allegedly confessed to orchestrating the attack by hiring hitmen after Constable Khoza had recently confronted him about drug dealing activities in the neighbourhood. Constable Khoza’s dedication to duty and courage in standing against crime will forever be remembered. We extend our most sincerest and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. #FinalSalute to a fallen hero. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten💙🇿🇦🫡
