Arsenal have spent over 200 days of this season at the top of the Premier League. Tonight, Man City went top. Business end brilliance from Pep. 🔝

The last time Manchester United faced Brentford, United lost 3–1, a result heavily influenced by a scandalous mistake from the referee and VAR. 𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒆: 𝑪𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒘𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑽𝑨𝑹: 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍 𝑻𝒊𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 In the second half, with the score at 2–1, Mbeumo was denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity when Brentford defender Collins pulled him down. The referee awarded a penalty but failed to show a red card for a clear DOGSO, and VAR agreed with the decision. To everyone’s shock, VAR took about five minutes to review what seemed an obvious call, yet still reached the wrong conclusion. This delay may have contributed to Bruno’s penalty miss, while Brentford remained with 11 players on the pitch. This poor decision had a significant impact on the match, with United eventually losing 3–1. The PGMOL chief later admitted it was a mistake.

Chelsea have CONFIRMED their financial CRISIS after BlueCo & 22 HoldCo’s bombshell accounts exposed: A staggering £1.85 billion in cumulative losses A crippling £1.39 billion debt pile and a toxic PIK loan that is exploding towards £1.4 billion by 2033, With UEFA breathing down their necks and a strict loss cap already in force, insiders say BIG SALES are close to inevitable. 📲- youtu.be/DgEZVfxk2ig

People laugh at Chelsea, but spending billions of quid to put together a team this terrible is actually an incredible achievement. Respect it.

You look at how bad Tudor was for Spurs and Rosienor at Chelsea, and it makes you think Carrick deserves a lot more credit…

Chelsea are the first of the “Big Five” to ever lose 5 straight Premier League matches… and it gets worse: 0 goals scored across all five defeats. 114 years since that last happened to Chelsea Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal & Liverpool have NEVER lost 5 straight in the Premier League… That’s not a slump — that’s a full-blown collapse.

Man United fans: "You have only won 2 Premier Leagues." Liverpool fans: "We have won 20 league titles. A name change doesn't change that fact." United fans: "You only won 2 and are barely better than Leicester. Just a small club in reality." Liverpool fans: "United haven't even won the Premier League yet." United fans: "Yes we have? We have won it 13 times." Liverpool fans: "No you haven't. No team has won 13 Premier League titles." United fans: "What are you on about? We have won the Premier League 13 times." Liverpool fans: "No you haven't. You haven't even won 1 Premier League title. You haven't even been in a title race for a Premier League title!" United fan: "Yes we have. Prove we haven't." Liverpool fan: "Ok. The Premier League has only been called The Premier League since 2016. You haven't won the league since before that, so you haven't won the Premier League and you aren't even on par with Leicester." 92-93: FA Premier League 93-01: FA Carling Premiership 01-04: FA Barclaycard Premiership 04-07: FA Barclays Premier League 07-16: Barclays Premier League 16-?: Premier League United fan: "But, but that doesn't count. It's still the same league." Liverpool fan: "I know. It's always been the same league. We've tried telling you this but you're too thick to get it!"

🎙️ Wayne Rooney on Carrick and Sir Alex: “I watched the game at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had 20-plus shots and didn’t score. United had one on target and won. That’s not luck. That’s what it used to be like under Alex Ferguson. You could go into big games, play players out of position, use the squad, the fringe players and still win. People talk about Carrick being quiet or not having a clear style. But football is about results. With Fergie, you couldn’t predict the team or the pattern. It was just about mentality. You could be under pressure all game and still win it. That’s what I saw again.”

This right here is the reason we won’t be able to sign Anderson. The gap between United and City for wages is just huge. We don’t operate in the same market.
Chris@CWeatherspoon_

Full slate of Premier League wage bills from 2024-25 here, and pertinent following yesterday Arsenal wages up this year but total bill £121m (25%) lower than Man City last season once latter's costs outside #MCFC entity included (note: #MCFC includes lots more admin staff)
