My father, who will be 101 yo in April, and a WWII Navy vet, made the mistake of turning on the news today. He saw where European nations refuse to help the US with the Strait of Hormuz. His words “Fk em! Fk NATO. Stop helping them!” I love the Greatest Generation.

@realpvt Yes, there are online newspaper articles showing photos of burning ships. Jacksonville Florida had people on the beach is watching a ship explode and burn caring oil.

@ResurrectLives @FFT1776 Merchant Marine WWII were granted Veteran status in 1989 if he was in ocean going waters. They even receive military medals since 1999. In 2020 a bill was signed to award them Congressional Gold Medal 🥇.
