@SomLikeItRedHot I think i was referring more to how ive seen tools like d+3+4 get downplayed for having counterplay. Despite noone wanting them. Either way i think i was talking out of my ass a bit

@SomLikeItRedHot Dont get me wrong, I think heats a terribly designed mechanic and compensating for the heat flappies feels like an awkward/rushed change. But they didnt actually remove flappy’s ch launch outside of heat so it seems like more of an oversight

Hwoarang's RF f+4,4 has been the same since Tekken 6 arcade version in 2007, so it's not unreasonable to be upset about them changing a move that's functioned the same way for nearly 19yrs instead of just removing it's heat properties and accept heat is a bad mechanic.

I feel like a lot of Hwoarangs cant tell the difference between winning due to “a gap in matchup knowledge” or due to “a genuinely strong tool used in the right situation that might be a lil overtuned”.

I'll be honest. Hwoarang not ch launching from raw flappy kicks in heat seems like an oversight and it is unfair that he doesn't get that while other heat moves that got nerfed do. For example : Law 1+2, Claudio db1+2, Asuka ff1+2 and wr1+2. Truly seems like an oversight.

Kinda similar to some Lars players, actually, but moreso because Hwoarang is THE quintessential matchup check.

Great patch overall. There's no frame/property changes so I'm expecting more of this in the next patch. Flappy "sometimes" being worse in heat is weird but I'll take it. Hoping d+3+4 gets the axe soon, as well as black kite losing it's plus frames

We’ve had safe CH df2s in this game for ages. They’re annoying but they’ve never been game breaking. They’re fucked now because they’re on characters who are not BALANCED around having them! But the df2 ITSELF is not the problem!

Safe generic df2s have the most SKEWED risk-reward ratio & stacked properties out of every EXISTING Tekken button, and it's about time something is done about it in an environment where any launcher necessarily means a half-life, wall-to-wall combo Time to address the superbutton

One thing that I really liked about characters in the past is that their punishment options often meant certain matchups were difficult. E.g. Before Bryan had FC df21, doing certain lows against him was safer and it was a weakness of his. Also some chars only having i16 launchers so -15 was safer (Negan powercrush example in T7). Would be nice to unstandardise punishment carefully so characters excel or slightly struggle in matchups, rather than most characters having mostly solid options.
