Since interacting with a few hiring posts, my X feed has turned into a job board. I realized I’m pretty selective about what I apply to. Not going for "any opportunity", more interested in working on things I actually believe in. Slower, but probably better in the long run.

Have experienced this. When you don't phrase your prompts properly and with the correct context, the AI will sometimes generate bloated code even if the fix is easy and minimal.

boris is such a good manager, the poor engineer that flubbed the map thing literally probably felt like dying after the leak happened, really delicate human situation to be in as a manager, that person could be tipping over the edge under the surface i know it's memes and code and money and blah blah but at a deep level i hope more people see the masterclass in management and looking out for your people that boris has done with this when you get to the point of managing people you hit this stark realization (if you're not a piece of shit) that you have a pretty big role in this person's day to day happiness, pretty cool to see him handle it so professionally and demonstrate high level leadership like that

Lmao idk what’s up with these govt hacks We won a Govt Police hack last year in June prize was ₹1 lakh It’s been almost a year now and we haven’t received anything no prize money, no certificates, nothing We’ve followed up multiple times, they just keep on delaying.

we all live in a big ecosystem that all feeds into each other - frontier labs push the bar on what's possible - opensource labs build off of that and make their own discoveries - inference providers make huge capex investments to serve these models - app builders create real $$$ demand to justify continued investment - individual hackers get these models running in all kinds of places - lots of co-designing between these parties that improve things - lots of conflict between these parties that create a good equilibrium no one spot is morally superior to the others - very dumb to get caught up in that line of thinking
