They cry and get mad, but that's on them they chose to believe their own fanfiction over the canon.

They've gaslit themselves and convinced themselves that Tifa is the main heroine, when it has always been established that Aerith is. Now that canon events and official posts are proving them wrong, they're getting upset because their headcanon doesn't match the actual story.

No one is saying that Tifa won't have a role or isn't important. She'll continue to have the same role she had in the OG and will continue to appear and be relevant to the LSS. The devs are not diminishing her role; it's just that you need to understand that from the beginning, she only had a supporting role. She's not the core character, she's not the protagonist, she's not the one who drives the story. It is not the one who unites everything. She's not the main character. Her role has always been secondary, and I'm not saying that to be derogatory. Secondary is not synonymous with irrelevant. She's a secondary character, and that's not a bad thing in any way, nor does it diminish her value. Her fans need to understand that, otherwise they'll always be disappointed when reality meets their absurd expectations.

This happened with Rebirth as well. In the lead up to the release, Cleriths were happy and celebrating while #they were at their most toxic. Crashing out at the devs, coming up with fake leaks. It's all they know how to do while they deny the inevitable
