Straight up hijacked this one from @hamsleyjordan If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball. Kids had a good time. Accel, change of direction, elusiveness, dodging, ducking…I could go on. Until next time, doggies.

Max Velocity is the End Point of Acceleration. It’s maintaining the endpoint acceleration created before decelerating occurs. Therefore “holding onto” Max Velocity. Accelerating longer will improve distance/time. With field/court sports the function is accelerating quickly to improve time/distance. Different demands! You need acceleration to hit Max V, so by choosing to run Flys you hit both…But why choose? Hit Max V 2-4 reps 2-3x a week. Hence why we time 5–>10yd accels and 30–> F10yd max V simultaneously. Then add accels in (shredmill) through out the rest of the week.

@coach_mel_redd They see it as being regular people but they aren’t. They are affected by double the performance that other athletes are.

I never really thought about how kids who are both high achievers academically and athletes, are expending so much more energy than the athletes who are taking regular classes… until I noticed it in my kid. They need more sleep, more fuel and more reminders to take breaks.
