Good Morning #Nashville! The upward creep in #coronavirus we've observed over the past few weeks continues... 7-day average % positives ⬆️at 9.5%. High community transmission puts our vulnerable at risk - let's push this curve back down to protect everyone. Happy Weekend ☀️🌿

Had some extra plates & figured my micro class would enjoy swabbing the room/each other to visualize some of the microbiome. 1) lots of similarity between foreheads, 2)some differences in growth from cellphones, 3) different parts of the water fountain, 4) cool patch from a 🗑.

Discover the Microbes Within! Wolbachia Project
It was hard for us to know when it would occur, but we always knew it would. The normalization of biotech and microbial symbiosis in classrooms is happening. The gels are prettier than the @WolbachiaProj stickers. And that's how it should be! Keep us posted @Wierzbowski_Bio.
Dawna Wierzbowski@Wierzbowski_Bio

Biotech students examined arthropods to see if they contained the bacterium Wolbachia. DNA was extracted from the arthropods and then amplified using primers provided by @WolbachiaProj that detect both arthropod DNA and Wolbachia DNA. Check out the results! #biotechexperience

We found that inter-correlations between bacterial taxa increased in obesity, suggesting altered community dynamics. Surprisingly, salivary microbiota provided a more distinct pattern of differentiation between obese & lean individuals than fecal microbiota.

Good evening #Nashville. It's important to note that while you enjoy the Spring lows for #coronavirus, a small number of #BA2 stealth omicron cases have been reported in the city. Stay informed and watch that % Positivity Chart (green). We do not want the 7-day MA to creep up.

Good day #Nashville followers: For the past 2 years, we analyzed and shared tracking data with you. Thanks for following along and staying informed. We're pleased to report that the #Coronavirus DOWN trend remains in the lowest ranges of these recent data charts.

Good news. From March 20 to today, #Nashville stats suggest the daily new count and cumulative doubling rate for SARS-CoV-2 #coronavirus cases are slowing. Keep up the progress everyone. Mask wearing, staying at home, distancing, and hygiene will #FlattenTheCurve

Good afternoon #Nashville! Look 👁️👁️ at this chart. The city made a new record low this past week for the 7-day moving average of #coronavirus cases. It has been 244 days since the value was this low. Congrats! Note the #BA2 coronavirus variant may shift the trend in the future.
