@WestHampTories @WH_guy @JGrauberg planning approval at 255 WEL seems partly justified on reduced delivery impact! Five Guys is another! Their delivery hatch and riders on pavenent, noise and safety issues. There is a clear gap between planning approvals and the reality on our streets @CamdenCouncil

I assumed that Poke Shack on West End Lane was going to be a proper shop but now I’m thinking it’s just a dark kitchen for delivery only??

@WH_guy In the 2024 planning decision notice, the officer specifically reports "deliveries are reduced" - but as it now appears to be operating mainly as a delivery outlet, would new planning permission be required, cannot see further application for 255 WEL? @JGrauberg

@WH_guy Astonishing we have a unit in a prime location on a busy high street being used as a dark kitchen. I guess the size of the unit presents a challenge.

@jillybean2009 @BlueberryGrove Most nail salons and hairdressers are hardly busy due to oversupply in our area. And rents are very expensive. Make it make sense!

West Hampstead property update: The Sushi Co (which has a shop in Hampstead) is replacing Lola’s Bakery on West End Lane

@BlueberryGrove @jillybean2009 Lola’s cafe seemed to be super popular so it’s pretty surprising that it didn’t make a profit yet there are so many nail salons and hairdressers (which aren’t part of a chain so don’t have economies of scale like Lola’s) on West End Lane which are able to stay in business??!! 🤔

@jillybean2009 @WH_guy Definitely closing, not moving anywhere else. Said not making a profit.

@jillybean2009 Just speculating that perhaps it’s because it’s not their core business - I think it’s the only cafe which they run?

@WH_guy Thanks for the update. I do like sushi, we have that already, but I prefer cupcakes and nothing else compares in West Hampstead. I wonder what prompted their decision, it is immensely popular...
