One year ago today, flooding destroyed western Douglas County and surrounding communities. Over two hundred water rescues were completed by the VOLUNTEERS of Waterloo and Valley fire departments. They are amazing people. #ElkhornBranch

Waterloo crews cleaning off all of the equipment that got dirty at tonight’s structure fire. We perform a thorough decon after fires to wash off as much of the cancer causing carcinogens from our gear and equipment as possible, even if it is after 10pm on a Saturday night.

Waterloo Fire is on scene of a serious motorcycle accident in the area of 264th and F Street. 264th Street has been shutdown in both directions and a Lifenet helicopter has been called to the scene. Please avoid the area

Yesterday some of our ACO's were deployed into flooded areas of Western Douglas County, where they helped rescue animals including horses, cats, parakeets, and chickens.

Maple street is open to Omaha. Highway 275 is open to Fremont. We still do not have access on Highway 64 or West Center Road to the West.
