Sadly, I lost a really special piece of jewellery tonight at Gatwick airport. I’ve had it for 13 years, and saved all my money with my first job to buy it second hand. I doubt very much it’ll be found and returned, but in any case, if anyone finds this bracelet it’s mine

@Bmangall20 @LADFLEG An old journalist pal was a drunken mess in a Belfast bar one night. He had the horrors the next day, but after a pre-booked flight to New York, he was smoking outside a jazz bar in the Village. Life was good. Then a passerby said "you were some cunt in Lavery's on Thursday".

If you could give one gift to a child of a fallen defender, what would it be? For many children in Ukraine, childhood no longer feels carefree. Air raids replace bedtime stories. Bomb shelters replace cozy beds. Months without seeing a parent. Empty chairs at holiday tables that will never be filled again... These children didn’t choose this reality. They don’t understand why violence came to their home and stole safety, security, and the simple joy of being a kid with mom or dad always by their side. This is now our fourth holiday season standing beside the families of Ukraine’s fallen and missing defenders, making sure their children still feel seen, supported, and surrounded by kindness. Let’s be that kindness. Honestly, this might be an unpopular opinion, but I’ve always felt that, visually, WRC is far more impressive to watch than Formula 1. Thinking about it, it’s probably because it’s almost impossible to truly grasp what 6G of lateral force feels like for an F1 driver. Until 2003, the most extreme example was David Purley’s crash, where he survived an almost unimaginable deceleration of 179.8G, the highest ever recorded for a human at the time
