Chicken is a good source of protein but not a great source of micronutrients like #iron, zinc, and others. Agree??

To Make America Healthy Again, we need to Eat Real Food. Eggs are a great place to start. Great work, @SecRollins!
Secretary Brooke Rollins@SecRollins

Back to basics. Back to real food. 🥚🇺🇸 Eggs are one of the most nutrient-dense foods we have — and exactly the kind of food we should be prioritizing for our kids and families. Great to be with @SecKennedy and @calleymeans ahead of the egg Super Bowl (Easter!!!) talking about what it means to Make America Healthy Again.

@paulsaladinomd Spinach has the highest amount of oxalates and very poor bioavailable iron. Spinach is not a superfood.

Most pesticide contaminated fruit/vegetables: 1. Spinach, the worst of them all. 75% of conventional samples contained permethrin, a neurotoxic pesticide banned in Europe. Popeye was wrong. 2. Kale/collard greens. >50% contained DCPA, a pesticide and possible human carcinogen according to the EPA. Also often high in thallium, a toxic heavy metal. 3. Strawberries. 30% of samples contained more than 10 different pesticides. Contained 82 different pesticides, overall. 4. Grapes 5. Nectarines 6. Peaches. 67% had 4 or more pesticide residues. 7. Cherries. This one hurts me. I love cherries, will only buy organic. 8. Apples. 65% contained Diphenylamine, a pesticide banned in Europe. 9. Blackberries. 58 different pesticides detected across all samples. 10. Pears. 1 in 3 pears contained carbendazim, a fungicide which is toxic to the male reproductive system and possible carcinogen. 11. Potatoes. Often contaminated with chlopropham, likely hormone disrupting. 12. Blueberries. Often contaminated with phosmet and malathion, organophosphate pesticides linked with lower IQ in kids (PMID: 21507776). Organic verisons of these may cost more but they will undoubtedly decrease you/your family's pesticide exposure.

Spinach is the worst leafy green you can eat. -Highest pesticide amounts of ALL produce by weight. 75% of non-organic samples contain permethrin (neurotoxic insecticide banned in Europe). -High oxalates (~800mg/ cooked cup) = significant kidney stone risk -Accumulates cadmium/lead Lettuce (romaine etc.) is far less problematic. Bring on the pitchforks🍴, @X.

The amount of sourdough loafs our started gives us every week is actually a blessing. I’ve been posting so much about it but I’m obsessed with it.

@thegarybrecka Post meal nap is wrecking your health. ❌ Rest after eating → Blood sugar spikes. ✅ Move after eating → Blood sugar stays stable. 👉 Choose movement, not naps, after meals.

That afternoon crash isn’t random. It’s usually blood sugar instability + dehydration. High-carb breakfast → glucose spike → insulin spike → crash. Add in low minerals and your nervous system can’t stabilize. What feels like “low energy” is often just poor regulation.
