@RewildScotland Not sure if this is a stupid question, was the lynx ever native to Scotland? And is there proof?

@RewildScotland @scotgov @ScotRewilding I've been visiting a place in Scotland, which was a sporting estate for the past 18 years, pretty regularly now owned by the FLS, and the dramatic decline in wildlife has made me so sad and heartbroken. Just another moorland disappearing.

@Whatlike10 @scotgov @ScotRewilding There is no doubt that observations and local knowledge are important but at some point you need to do some type of measurement and when you do that you realise that net biodiversity increases.
English

@RewildScotland @scotgov @ScotRewilding My observations. Walking around these places and seeing nothing. You don't need to be a scientist to see the lack of wildlife. It breaks my heart to see this happening all over Scotland. It feels like nobody cares anymore.
English

@RewildScotland @scotgov @ScotRewilding In my opinion, rewilding doesn't have an uplift in species. I have visited more and more so-called rewilding takeovers, and the wildlife seems to disappear.

@RewildScotland @scotgov @ScotRewilding So deer fencing hundreds of acres of moorland killing all the deer and hares in it and all the moorland birds and animals disappear. Sounds smashing! Really good, healthy ecosystem 👏🏼.

@Whatlike10 @scotgov @ScotRewilding Are you referring to individual species or biodiversity overall? Rewilding clearly shows net uplift in species diversity, abundance and ecosystem health.

@RewildScotland The general theme here is that you don't like gamekeepers and sporting Estates. Highland clearance all over again. These glen communities are slowly disappearing with job losses. Sad times ahead.

@SealeStu Are you having a laugh? I travel all around Scotland, and it's the same story , deer fencing and mounding, and no wildlife. Everything gone apart from the carrion crows that mop up the leftovers. It's an absolute disgrace.i really hope these grousemoors keep doing what they do

There will be many more + variety after rewilding

@RewildScotland What happens to the moorland birds that live and thrive here after you take their habitat away. Where about is this?

@RewildScotland I don't believe in carbon sequestration. It's the biggest scam going. It's all about the money.

@Whatlike10 More native woodland and carbon sequestration?

My good friend @ChrisGPackham just took on a vital new role - Chief Ecologist for @EcotalkMobile - a sim only mobile service, dedicated to rewilding Britain. How dedicated? 100%. All of our profits are used to buy land for nature. It’s a great concept, every time you call, text, scroll or just surf - you can do good, every action on your phone leads to an action for nature. We’ve reinvented Doomscrolling - with Ecotalk it’s Bloomscrolling..:) Welcome Chris..:)
