@TomOHanlon17 Would you accept if this was used as the test case for all similar unauthorised developments? The number of people posting in support of the owners flouting the planning laws simply because they had the means to do so is unbelievable.

It would be easier to stomach a family’s home being demolished for lack planning permission if the government had not arbitrarily decided to give a blanket exemption to IPAS centres across the country, swamping small towns and villages with people who entered the state illegally

Personal belongings are being removed from the Murray family house at Bohermeen in Meath, which is expected to be demolished on foot of a High Court order by the end of the week @rtenews

Terrible to demolish a usable home. Owners accept their planning breach, yet €130k+ will be spent knocking it while families struggle to find housing. Hard to justify. A rigid system choosing enforcement over common sense.

@UnityakaAontu No I'm not. You're also evading the question, which I guess is your right, but a very strange position to hold if you claim to represent the public and uphold the law.

@UnityakaAontu Really? How does that work when the owners built the house which was multiple times the size of what the were refused permission for? You are effectively extolling the rights of individuals in society with the greatest means to ignore the law. That is a disgrace.

@White_Chapel0 They do. They have said it publicly many times. I do not condone any breaches of planning. They have lost their home & that is their punishment. Demolishing a fine property that could serve the community or a charity is futile

@UnityakaAontu It’s criminal to knock this family’s home down that they built on their own land, just because a someone wrote the law years ago doesn’t make it right today.

@gorehoundess @MickOKeeffe The owners of this house also view themselves as being above the law as shown by their 20 year long campaign to circumvent the planning legislation.

@MickOKeeffe It beggars belief, making an example of a family home, while corporate illegal camps are above the law.

How Ireland works : Today Meath Council started the demolition of an Irish family's home that was built without planning permission 20 years ago. Despite years of legal struggles trying to right the planning issues, the parents of the family are now facing arrest. Meanwhile, a purpose built migrant village consisting of 65 different structures that was also built without planning permission, has not been demolished. It still houses migrants to this day and the owners have been paid over €30 million since the development was deemed illegal, despite it being called "Ireland's biggest planning scandal."

@ConorMacNam86 @CrytonFred @techbuzzinfo Yea, bikes are a mode of transport, not a hobby. Doing a bit of projecting there "thick cunt" ? Lol Repeating stuff like "parasitic nuisance" too, you need to get over yourself.

@White_Chapel0 @CrytonFred @techbuzzinfo No because pedestrians aren’t a nuisance to just about every other member of the public, unlike thick cunt cyclists. Take your hobby to the park where it belongs and fuck off being a parasitic nuisance to the rest of us. The world has moved on from bicycles.

@ConorMacNam86 @CrytonFred @techbuzzinfo Great use of the false analogy there. Do you believe the same about pedestrians? Cyclists are recognised as road users & it isn't unsafe to cycle on roads. The only example of idiocy here is the ridiculous false & exaggerated claims about who should/shouldn't use public roads.

@White_Chapel0 @CrytonFred @techbuzzinfo You’re right. Children’s toys (bicycles) really should be on roads mixing with motor vehicles. It’s like saying you can go out in a blizzard in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. The idiocy of two wheeled vermin I suppose.

@CrytonFred @techbuzzinfo They shouldn’t be on the roads full stop, even if there are no cycle lanes. Roads are for motor vehicles, not two wheeled vermin.

@LivingTricks_ Ireland put in quite a bit of work in in the early 90's, due to the Celtic tiger economic boom starting. the 20 something males that used to emigrate were able to stay in Ireland to consume their beer at home, + people had more money generally and there was no unit pricing.

Plans by the Donald Trump-owned Trump Doonbeg resort in Clare to construct a ballroom have been stalled by a sole objector living in Longford. The objector pointed to what he describes as the marked deterioration of the 2mm Vertigo Angustior snail jrnl.ie/6982815

@EddiePunch @thejournal_ie @tjmcgibnxy "..Madden contends that the planning documentation lodged with the application doesn’t comply with the Planning and Development Act “and cannot be remedied.." If this is genuine, then this is a serious appeal and will be considered. Vexatious objections won't carry as you know

@thejournal_ie @tjmcgibnxy Irrelevant that it's owned by Trump. This kind of objection is a making a farce out of our country - a ballroom today, a home tomorrow, a hospital whenever they get around to it - can the snail not relocate to the adjacent field?

@gloverstweets @nookost @OcMaurice Naturally, but nobody is obliged to accept fiction in place of fact. Yea, they did a great job on WWTPs alright, even in places where there was none to impact on water quality... Good call on co-ops. Aurivo Ballaghaderreen already prosecuted, surely others will follow..

@White_Chapel0 @nookost @OcMaurice lobbyists going to lobby, it’s literally their job in fairness to IFA they did a great job calling out WWTPs (Matthew 7:3-5) IFA just focused on Uisce Éireann, rather than CoOps data suggests North Cork isn’t unique at least 3 more, if we’re guessing, where’s next ?
