Sad news. Anne Scargill was arguably one of the three most important people in Britain during one of its most influential years (1984) and so few people acknowledge that. Her example brought many women into politics and for that she should be lauded, regardless of your views.

This is getting ridiculous now. Nigel Farage finally surfaces to claim we did have an election in wartime because we were still at war with Japan. How many bombs, missiles and drones were Japan dropping on Britain at the time. How many Japanese troops were occupying the British mainland.

This headline/pic combo reminds me of the legendary - and perhaps apocryphal – Lib Dem story in which Ed Davey was despatched to a horse sanctuary ahead of a by-election for a photoshoot to show it was a "two-horse race", only to find there was one horse there.
