Just not going to pay $100 for a regular ETB of a set that is actively being released.

I don’t think the market will necessarily crash, but as everything - we will see a giant shift in collecting. Pokemon is “cool” right now, but it won’t always be as it wasn’t always.
People are trying to dip their toes in the water, and I’m seeing so many “how do I get into pokemon” tweets lately. For me it’s never been, you’re either into it or you aren’t.
It would be nice to see the hype die down a little bit so the average collector and pokemon fan (the ones without padded pockets) can appreciate the hobby again.

The Pokémon card market will inevitably crash. I don’t know how or why, but likely within a year after the 30th anniversary. This would follow historical trends. With liquidation at its easiest, there will be far less true collectors. People talk about this event now, but will they be around to talk about it when it actually happens? It is inevitable.
