Giveaways have probably overstayed their welcome on PokeTwitter. I would be completely fine with them going away with the new changes. I used to run them occasionally to grow my account but realized growth for the sake of growth isn't worth it. Majority of entrants only repost other giveaway content and will never actually engage in a meaningful capacity with your account, which defeats the purpose in my opinion. I moved to buyer appreciation stuff which includes tossing free packs or small sealed product in people's claim sale orders. Would rather give back to people who support me.

@_bismack_ This is the way. In my opinion people are too entitled on certain platforms for giveaways to be beneficial in an “active growth” way

@BlastoiseBaller I think for the monetization program they have just been cracking down on accounts soliciting for engagement. Any giveaways where you're asking people to like and repost could fall under that type of engagement baiting since you're essentially juicing your metrics. 🤷‍♂️

Can be fine if genuine, but often paired with manipulation that trips detectors. • GM spam & low-value replies: Flooding popular posts with irrelevant noise to farm reach-classic disruption. X’s policies are clear: no bulk duplicative content, no artificial inflation, no disrupting the experience. The polemic take: This is mostly good. X was becoming unusable thanks to parasites optimizing for algo slop instead of value. Cleaning house rewards original creators who actually post thoughtfully. Real engagement > farmed numbers. Not just Pokémon TCG- it’s everywhere. Engagement farms, giveaway bait, mass-reply bots, follow trains, and “GM” spam everywhere. It turned timelines into landfills. But there’s more 👇🏼

@_bismack_ I stopped selling on TCGplayer when people were lowballing my listings with Chinese and Korean cards (which aren’t playable in pokemon and yugioh).

Kind of infuriating how often sellers refund for out of stock cards on TCGPlayer. Almost never happens on eBay. Now I just expect it if I order more than a couple cards from a single seller on TCGPlayer.

@daxingtontf No way anyone pumped a Sunkern card, even the Unseen Forces one from Kizuki is still cheap.

Genuinely so nice to collect Pokémon that aren't as popular as Zard, Umbreon or Gengar. Even in this market, nobody is pumping Makuhita, Corphish or Sunkern cards. 🤣

My mom gave me this over Fourth of July Weekend. Said she couldn't find any packs the few times she checked but found this. Have a pretty good electric toothbrush already but switching over to this "brushtastic" set until further notice. Parents who try are awesome.
