It's very cool that the President can wipe out a foreign government in a matter of hours. Many are watching this in total shock and awe. But we're fighting tooth and nail to deport the millions of illegals Democrats brought in during the Biden Wave. I'm not saying this to dismiss the progress that has been made so far. We saw negative net migration for the first time in 50 years. An incredible achievement to be sure, but the fact remains that it's far more difficult for the President to do the things he was explicitly elected to do here at home than it is for him to topple foreign governments on the other side of the world.

It's pretty clear that on the international stage, the President of the United States is the true Schmittian sovereign who decides on the exception. The irony is that the President is (almost) powerless inside the borders of his own country.
