@Chokd001 When you say TAX ID, do you mean the one generated with your NIN?

What i did was to use the actual Tax ID number and submitted my NIN slip were i needed to upload it.

@remotemondays Hi bro, I can see this in my active jobs, but there is an issue with setting up financial information. I'm stuck at TAX ID verification. Apparently, they still maintain the old format of VAT ID for Nigeria, whereas our VAT ID is now the NIN. What do you think is the way forward?

Flew from Lagos to Istanbul and the plane was old, rickety on the inside with horrible entertainment system and seat adjustment. Then flew from Istanbul to London, and brooo, the plane fresh die. Everything mmaranma. They usually send the worst of their fleet to Africa.

This is an overgeneralization. carriers like Emirates, Qatar Airways, & Turkish Airlines often use relatively modern aircraft on many African routes. However, some routes to parts of Africa do sometimes get older aircraft, but that’s not unique to Africa. There can be patterns on some routes where airlines deploy older aircraft, often on routes with lower revenue or less competition, but that’s a business decision, not a blanket rule targeting Africa.

I was in an Uber today. Driver got to a road that was quite narrow because one Danfo had brazenly stopped on one side and was boarding passengers. So private cars had just one way to pass. Like a sane man, my driver kindly waited for a number of cars (coming from the other side) to pass. After about three or four cars passed, he decided to drive through. Tell me why a foolish driver who was coming from the same opposite side he had allowed other drivers to pass started to speed. In his mind, he was going to outsmart him. My driver got angry and insisted on the way. The other one had no choice but to reverse. I've experienced this so many times with my husband driving. He would allow drivers to pass and someone would try to outsmart because they feel like they can quickly take advantage of your kindness. Many Nigerians are simply not considerate people. They don't put themselves in the shoes of others. Imagine people like that being in power.
Chicken Catcher🐔@Only1Etubo

I think many Nigerians lack empathy, which may be why, when given even a small amount of power or authority, they are more likely to abuse it.

@maxvayshia That's why I always say this change we seek is worth dying for. We must excise this rot, the structure must go. It has only worked for those in these public offices, never for the citizens.

I was in Area F in Ikeja to bail someone and I saw a flat-screen television that was hung almost very close to the ceiling in a cage with padlocks. I asked the IPO why a television was locked like that in a police station and the look he gave me says it all. Na those people you wan give body camera? Lol.

Let me use my own life to explain why some politicians suddenly start complaining about Nigeria once they leave power. When I’m at work in Nigeria, my life is heavily subsidized. I live in an apartment with 24/7 electricity, armed security, cleaners, and house help, all paid for. I even get food at work. I’m driven everywhere, from work to shopping. In that environment, you’re almost shielded from what's really happening on the streets. But the moment I’m off duty and back in my house in Lagos, Omo, reality hits differently. I suddenly realise that fuel is actually 1334 Naira per liter. Yes, I still have a driver and a cleaner, but now, I’m the one paying their salaries. In less than 14 hours outside that comfort zone, I’ve already spent 83,600 Naira on fuel for my car and generator. As I am typing this, my gateman just switched off the generator. I don't know if he's trying to save fuel or if it has finished. All I know is that I’m lying here on my bed, starting to sweat. That contrast is real, and it explains a lot.
