mUSD by @MetaMask is now listed on @ethereum Core and @LineaBuild. Users can supply and borrow mUSD on both markets.

@ChineduAyo @LineaBuild Linea is not focusing enough on its own token, retailers and holders are disappointed, but this can be easily addressed with the decentralization of the sequencer, so holders can stake $LINEA, this will reduce the circulation and will create more txs = more burn @DeclanFox14

One of the biggest shifts I've seen over the last 12 months from the @ethereumfndn is they now approach the network more like a product. Technology is a great enabler and Ethereum has the best research community in crypto but identifying who your users are, understanding their needs, and then prioritizing the right solutions for them has, and always will be, the key to success. It's a hard job doing this effectively in a centralized organization, let alone a decentralized one. Credit to @tkstanczak @hwwonx and everyone working at the EF for driving this change.

tired of seeing this on the timeline, so here's a screenshot straight from the last Linea Consortium board meeting internal presentation as you can see the Linea team has literally 0 token allocated to them the Linea Consortium has 4% of the total supply to bootstrap the organization (that is going to pay for the core development of the Linea stack + the actual L2 operation) an additional 4% has been allocated for liquidity provision to centralized exchanges + to the last liquidity incentive program before native yield gets launched on mainnet the Linea Consortium is formed by diverse entities (SBET, Eigen, Status, more coming soon), with only 1 seat for Consensys. so no, the Linea team doesn't have access to any token directly, only the Consortium board can decide on the allocations btw, i was involved in the negotiations leading up to the latest announcement by SBET to start deploying their ETH reserve on Linea - and i made sure to include a clause in the contract that ultimately this ETH TVL will be used productively in the Linea DeFi ecosystem and be aligned with the LINEA token the reason i'm telling you this is to share a bit more transparently what's going on behind the scene: we are multiple companies working very hard on making the Linea ecosystem succeed, and all of those organizations may have divergent opinions and strategies to get there, hence the Consortium is definitely not managed by a centralized Linea team, but is here to find what's best for the Linea ecosystem, the Linea stack, and the LINEA token and its holders as mentioned multiple times already, the only tokens held by the Linea team has been bought at market post TGE. i'm not in the Linea team, but have been deeply involved in the ecosystem for the last 2 years (@StatusL2 runs on the Linea stack), and the only LINEA tokens i personally own i bought them post TGE as well - i actually provided concentrated liquidity on Etherex right before Oct 10 - and got immediately rekt lol. i don't plan on selling it as i believe that Linea is undervalued (i mean SWIFT? SBET?? native yield? burn?? all of these seemed overlooked to me as everyone jumps to the latest hot stuff) if you read this far, you deserve to get some alpha: - burn starts very soon (before devconnect is my guess - potentially as early as next week) - native yield is nearly done (hopefully live in december, pending audits) - the native yield will be immediately put to good use as community incentives - so not using LINEA tokens as rewards anymore, but pure ETH and mUSD - the Consortium will soon have a website up with more info on the by-laws + resolutions + content about latest board meetings and strategic directions - we're currently hiring for an Executive Director for the Consortium - if you know someone who might be a good fit, please reach out! i'm personally determined to push transparency forward and as a fellow b̶a̶g̶h̶o̶l̶d̶e̶r̶ member of the community i will do my best to bring as much utility to the LINEA token as possible believe in something 🫡

Native Yield goes live this year on Linea Mainnet with additional real yield sources to be added to it's economic distribution capacity. This capital will be used to power the networks economy, where every single transaction burns ETH and LINEA 🔥

@ethereumJoseph I love it ! But users want to do something with their tokens, just to feel a little bit productive, like staking or holding in aave for example for an APR and maybe use it as collateral for a small loan and maybe earn more Linea tokens.

Well, just holding Linea will open up further rewards opportunities, mostly in other tokens; some from Consensys and some from protocols that we are aligned with. MetaMask and Linea are cooking somETHing together to make this happen. Together we are all bootstrapping the Linea Token Economy. Holding LINEA tokens signals that you are a Linea community member and are likely engaged in productive Linea Economy activities: building, liquidity provision / staking, using, collecting, .... So if we notice, at some date in the future that you've held n LINEA tokens for m days, that just might lead to another token landing in your account. And if n and m are larger numbers your account might receive a larger reward. Rinse, repeat.

I still don’t think people realize the gravity of an ecosystem fund the size of Linea. Most projects end up giving 50% of supply to insiders which is sold aggressively over 3-4 years. Whereas Linea has majority of supply managed by accountable institutions to grow ecosystem and fund open source software over decades time horizon. This supply is fixed and as that growth leads to expansion of transactions, it is deflationary due to the burn mechanism.

I think we’ll be surprised (in a very good way) by what native staking on @LineaBuild will offer It’s a game changer that’s still underestimated and nobody is talking about it
