@jimstinson Some cities make a percentage of the money from non-sports events, but it depends on the specific deal. Even WITH that, the owners are the ones that pocket the lion's share while the public pays. Study after study has proven that stadiums are bad for cities and good for owners.

The public should never, ever pay for a stadium. Sports owners are billionaires. They can afford to pay the players. They can afford to pay for stadiums. They can afford to pay for everything - they're billionaires.
