lol announcing this guy’s contract like he’s a player
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate

The #Eagles have agreed to a contract extension with Dom DiSandro, whose official titles are Senior Advisor to the GM, Chief Security Officer, and Gameday Coaching Operations. He has been in Philadelphia since 1999.

How much would it change perceptions on Kaelon Black if we agreed that his combine snub was totally wrong? His RAS after his pro day was a 9.14 - one of the highest athletic scores in the class and he was better in every category except short shuttle(.03 different) and broad jump(exact same) than his teammate Roman Hemby, who was invited to the combine.

@SulligentHUB @eddie_dc @StatsOnFire People have the attitude they do because Kyle is the one with the call. Everything you pointed out is why coaches don’t do this part of it. They give some input on players & trust the front office to do what the front office is paid to do.

I think people truly don't know the math on how many prospects, how many games, there is to watch and how long it actually takes. There's over 300 prospects. Each prospect has 11-14 games of just the previous years tape to watch. If you only assume 30 min per game for all-22 and endzone views on a straight watch-through, that's 5.5-7 hours per prospect, per season. 300 prospects X 5.5-7 hours is 1,650-2,100 hours of film to watch on players. They have 11 weeks and 4 days from Feb 1- the draft. 81 days. That's over 20 hours per day, every day, to watch just the guy's 2025 film, to watch every prospect. If you cut it down to 200...you're still over 13 hours per day, every day, just watching film. No meetings, no travel, not one single day off and never watching any play more than once. That's without watching the senior bowl and practices, without watching the combine, without watching the shrine bowl and practices, thats without player interviews. What people are expecting is not actually possible.

The process Shanahan discuss is fairly common around the league. Scouts spend the entire year evaluating prospects, while coaches join the process after the season. The highlight tapes are simply a snap shot of a prospect that leads to a greater discussion, if the coaches and scouts like the prospect. At that point, the group will rewatch the tapes and determine where to place the prospect on the board. Despite the head coach having final say, it’s a collaborative process that heavily involves the GM, scouts and coaches. At the end of the day, it’s important for the team to take players who the coaches believes fits the scheme. Otherwise, you’re simply collecting players, but not building a “team” that functions effectively between the lines. x.com/TheHerd/status…

@JavierVeg_ I think he meant #2 that was available. Remember, before he said that he said, “I’m trying to think how to phrase this,” and he said black was #2 “on the board.”

I wonder if the Niners board is based on where they’re drafting? Black is clearly not the 2nd best back in this years draft. Could it be that they had Price 1, and Black 2, bc they knew at 27 Love wasn’t gonna be there anyway
Coach Yac 🗣@Coach_Yac

John Middlekauff on Kyle Shanahan saying Kaelon Black was the second rated RB on the 49ers draft board: “When I saw that quote I immediately text teams 'Is this insane to have the Indiana RB as the number 2 RB on this year’s draft board?'. Everyone that responded said 'yes'.” 🎥: @3andout_pod

@jacklich10 Forgive me, but how can the Browns be the third best over a half decade span and still be ass? Panthers, Colts, Cardinals all highly rated, and all bad for the last few years.

Five year NFL Consensus Draft grades by team. It's really no surprise the Ravens and Eagles are at the top. And the 49ers and Jaguars once again rounding out the rear...

The story of this NBA season hasn’t been fully told. Great storylines the @NBA could be running with its top team, the Oklahoma City Thunder: 1. How the OKC Thunder’s culture has permeated the entire NBA and NCAA. 2. How OKC gave every young NBA squad hope they could win now, inspiring runs by the Hornets, Spurs, Pistons, and others. 3. How the OKC Thunder has driven year-long social media engagement to an unprecedented level without league marketing assistance. 4. How OKC is bringing defense back to the NBA, and the league is as popular as it’s been in 30 years. 5. Thunder Narratives: Separating Fact from Fear & Fiction. 6. Was Scottie Pippen implying there may be a new sheriff in town in Oklahoma City in terms of the GOAT (see his tweet after Game 3 in Phoenix)? Instead, the NBA has left the Thunder to be slandered despite their transformational impact on the league. I get the $76B TV deal and who they think is more important to elevate right now, but that storyline shouldn’t overshadow the organic greatness of the league or any of its hot teams. No team has been talked about organically this year more than the Thunder. @NBAPR

The more Kyle Shanahan talks about the draft, the more I agree that maybe SF’s draft approach needs an overhaul. Falling in/out of love with a prospect thru an assistant coach’s Hunger Games highlight reel competition is what leads to non-combine-invite-RB-who-cant-catch in R3.
Sterling Bennett🔌💭@49ers_Access

Kyle Shanahan shares the team’s draft preparation: He doesn’t pick up tape til February & relies on the position coaches to make highlight tapes on each prospect so he can study it. “If I don’t like their highlight tape, I’m not going to watch anything after.” #49ers | #FTTB
