The Hungarian tax authority has launched a money-laundering investigation, and the individuals have been expelled from Hungary. What makes this even more alarming is that since January more than $900 million, €420 million and 146 kg of gold have reportedly been transported through Hungary toward Ukraine. Armored vehicles full of cash and gold moving across Hungary is not how legitimate financial transactions usually work. The real question is simple: who stands behind this money and what is it meant to finance? Hungarian authorities have launched a full investigation. Now those responsible must provide answers.
