It was a pleasure showing @SussexARG members around the #GatwickWoodlands recently where @GGPWildlife have been carrying out grassland habitat management to benefit amphibians and reptiles. A few of the local #grasssnakes even made an appearance.

This bank may look uninteresting to us, but it has has everything #Gatwicks Long-horned #bees need. Taking #ActionForInsects, our #Volunteer reserve managers put in a fence to prevent visitors accidentally trampling the burrows and emerging #bees. Please tread carefully 🐝🐝🌸🌼

We had a wonderful day helping prepare and sow #communityRoadVerges with #maidenbower bee wild volunteers in #Crawley. #wildflower verges in urban areas can be a haven for invertebrates and local residents alike, so were looking forward to seeing the flowers blooming soon.

Spotted @Gatwick_Airport resident #BlackRedstart singing away, and showing off his distinctive (and very festive) rufous rump this week. At a glance this bird could be confused with a robin but with under 100 breeding pairs in the UK, getting a few pics was a real Christmas treat
