@_traces @FurryCairo Like with all things, it's more complex that how it appears on the surface. Furry cons are in a weird spot. For most. enough attendance to make it crowded in hotel event areas, but not large enough to rent out convention space. Which need like 40 or 50k people.

@FurryCairo amazing how comic conventions solved this problem and dragon con has 90,000 attendees but we struggle with 15k

I’m new to the fandom but man it doesn’t seem sustainable if every mid-big size convention is like trying to buy concert tickets or sneaker drops. There’s gotta be a better way. There’s clearly the demand there - some cons could clearly support twice yearly like comic con

I travel a lot for work and encounter others who do as well. Its common to hear them 'joke' about being happy to get away from their spouse. And im like... I miss the hell out of mine when I travel. Why are some of these dudes even married if they feel that way?

Mandatory fast food and/or retail employment for 1 year for all Americans so they learn empathy for the person behind the counter and aren't complete assholes to them.

I think the only thing more annoying than not getting a room due to a technical issue with the booking system is the holier than thou tweets from ppl who got rooms shitting on ppl who didn’t because they “didn’t read the instructions” like get bent enjoy your room d-hole lmao

I usually don’t complain about con hotel bookings BUT when you plan ahead, do everything right, get the hotel res in your cart & the system says “held” but the site bugs & you lose ALL ability to get ANY hotel. What the actual f*ck ya’ll.

Jeez. Even with a modest paycheck, buying a home seems nearly impossible unless your household yearly income is like approaching or over 300k/yr. Alternatives are having a 45m commute daily or being housepoor. Nearly every one I've look at was half or 2/3rds the price in 2018
