HE. David Maraga had the STATE OF NATION address this morning in Nairobi. Here are the key takeaways from his speech. 1. The country is losing billions through corruption, it is estimated to be Sh.3bn per day. David Maraga will end this by closing all the corruption loopholes. 2. Government borrowing is established as a looting scheme by the previous and current governments. The Maraga government shall minimize on State borrowing. 3. Kenyans are struggling every single day to put a meal on the table. This is as a result of having the government that benefits only a few individuals, the Ukombozi govt led by Maraga shall be a govt that prioritizes the citizens first. 4. The Ukatiba Caravan enbled Maraga to realize what is ailing Kenyans; - Disregard for the rule of law; - State capture and endemic corruption; - A ravaged economy; - Youth unemployment, and - The collapse of service delivery, particularly in health and education. All these shall be a story of he past under the Leadership of David Maraga in the coming government. During the Ukatiba Caravan, at one of the stops, a visibly angry man was handed a microphone and asked what he would like the Maraga government to do for Kenyans. He uttered just two words: “Funga Ruto”. The Ukombozi govt under Maraga shall held all leaders accountable. It doesnt matter who you are or have been, all found guilty of criminal offences shall be prosecuted according with the law and be jailed if found guilty, William Ruto is not an optional.

STATEMENT BY SENATOR OKIYA OMTATAH ON THE DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD 2026. Today, 16th June, we commemorate the Day of the African Child, a day that honours the courage and sacrifice of the #Soweto students who, in 1976, stood up against oppression and paid the ultimate price. Their struggle was a powerful reminder that children are not spectators in society. They are its conscience, its hope, and its future. This year’s theme, “Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa,” speaks to one of the most basic rights of every child. Access to clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene is not a privilege. It is a fundamental human right. Yet across Kenya and much of Africa, millions of children continue to live without these essentials. Children walk long distances in search of water that is often unsafe. Girls miss school because sanitation facilities are unavailable or inadequate. Preventable diseases continue to rob children of their health, their education, and, in some cases, their lives. This is not because we lack the resources to address these challenges. It is because corruption, mismanagement, and misplaced priorities continue to deny children what is rightfully theirs. Funds meant for water and sanitation projects too often disappear, while communities remain trapped in hardship. On this Day of the African Child, I call upon both the National and County Governments to: • Guarantee access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services in every school and every community. • Treat the theft and misuse of public funds meant for water projects as a direct attack on the rights and welfare of children. • Involve communities, especially women and young people, in planning, monitoring, and safeguarding public services. • Align public budgets with our commitments under the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and ensure those commitments are reflected in tangible investments. We must stop treating African children as beneficiaries of charity. They are citizens with rights. They are entitled to the opportunities and resources needed to thrive. The true measure of our commitment to children will not be found in speeches or commemorations. It will be found in functioning water systems, safe sanitation facilities, healthy learning environments, and accountable leadership. As we honour the memory of the Soweto martyrs, let us commit ourselves to action. Let us build a society where no child is denied dignity, health, or opportunity because of neglect, corruption, or indifference. Happy Day of the African Child. #DAC2026 #DayOfTheAfricanChild #WASHForEveryChild #AfricanChildRights

I would like to express my deep appreciation to the @LindaMwananchi_ leadership for gracing the State of the Nation discussion today at Ufungamano. As we heard from Hon. @CaroliOmondi Hon. Wilberforce Oundo and Hon, @Honcalebamisi the youth of this country have heeded their historic call to fight this Ruto regime and deliver the Kenya of our wildest imagination. Together, we can deliver the #Ukombozi Kenyans deserve.
